DIXON, KENTUCKY: '1000-lb Sisters' stars Tammy and Amy Slaton have dropped considerable weight since their first appearance on the TLC show. Amy and Tammy's latest photos are proof that they have ditched their unhealthy lifestyles to lose weight.
Both Slaton sisters have often documented their weight loss journey on social media. Tammy and Amy have undergone multiple surgeries and struggled a lot to reach their weight goals. However, some fans have started to think that Tammy might be thinner than her sister Amy.
Is Tammy skinnier than Amy Slaton?
A Reddit user recently created a thread that posed the question, "Does anyone else think Tammy... is smaller than Amy now? The thread continues, "I mean, I don't know how much she weighs, but Amy looks stalled while Tammy is starting to look even smaller." Multiple social media users agreed to the thread. One commented, "I think when Tammy has skin removal surgery, her and Amy are gonna be close in weight." Another user added, "I feel like some of what makes Tammy look larger now is the skin, so I wonder if skin surgery is in her future."
A follower noted, "She prob won’t be smaller until she gets skin removal. Amy’s legs for example were never on Tammy’s level and that skin still weighs a lot!" Another social media user wrote, "Tammy may also be a bit shorter than she should be due to spinal compression from being so heavy for so long." How much weight have Tammy and Amy Slaton lost so far?
Amy and her older sister Tammy started their weight loss journey on reality television in January 2020, and it appears the results came out impressive. When the TLC show kicked off, Amy weighed over 400 pounds, and Tammy's highest weight was over 700 pounds. However, the younger sister was able to get her weight loss surgery in the first season. After she had undergone the procedure, Amy got pregnant twice and her weight loss appeared to have plateaued.
Meanwhile, Tammy's struggle with food addiction and her mental health prevented her from receiving her surgery until season four. Despite all the hurdles, Tammy achieved her weight loss goal. The reality star needed to drop from 717 lbs to 550 lbs in order to qualify for weight loss surgery, and, much to her excitement, she made it down to 534 lbs. Meanwhile, Amy dropped an impressive 125 lbs.

Tammy recently achieved a milestone in her weight loss journey. The reality star recently shared a new video on her Instagram Stories that showed her walking up to two doctors. In the video, Tammy was seen walking on her own after losing over 300 pounds and being on her drastic weight loss journey. Additionally, Tammy also ditched her oxygen pipe, which Tammy said she hasn't needed during the day for roughly two weeks. For the unaware, Tammy was put on oxygen after a scary brush with Covid-19 that put her in the hospital and threatened her life.
