COLUMBUS, OHIO: Rapper Lil Durk was hospitalized for a week due to extreme exhaustion and dehydration. According to TMZ, the 30-year-old rapper was admitted to a hospital in Ohio on July 6 after falling sick. Sources said that he went to the hospital as a precaution, but the doctors informed him that the situation was more serious than he had initially thought and that he needed to be admitted.
In 2022, Durk had an onstage accident due to a firework during Lollapalooza in Chicago. He was seen receiving medical care while a bandage covered his right eye. According to Variety, the rapper accidentally made contact with two pyrotechnic smoke flares while performing his song 'Back In Blood'.
Is Lil Durk OK?
Durk is recovering after a week in the hospital for exhaustion and dehydration. He was forced to postpone several gigs around Europe and miss the ESPY Awards in Los Angeles.
In a statement to TMZ, Durk stated, "My fans mean everything to me, you’re the reason why I do this. I was looking forward to touching all of my European fans, performing this week(end), attending the ESPYs and more but after performing and traveling daily I’ve become severely dehydrated and advised by my doctors not to travel due to exhaustion. Once I get my full energy back, it’s back to business which I’m looking forward to. #StillHealing."
'Less lean more water, big prayers'
Worried fans and followers immediately took to social media to express their concern over the Durk's health. One fan said, "All he had to do was drink some ginger ale and go lay down." A second worried fan exclaimed, "Yall young people better stop neglecting your health." A third one chimed in with, "This incident & that Suki video should serve as reminders for why drinking water is so important. Durk being hospitalized & Suki spraying gasoline outta her cat." Someone else wrote, "Get that man some WATER."
Another fan took to Twitter and wrote, "Less lean more water, big prayers." A second fan explained the importance of water and wrote, "Some people don't like eating water, they don't like the taste and texture which I never understood because water has no taste. There was this prank with this supposed water expert and they gave him different bottles of water filled with tap and he tried to explain the difference." Another fan penned, "Durk please get well soon I see you in North Carolina on the 31!!!!!!" A fourth quipped, "Another one of the entertainers who think they superman and can stay up 4 days straight with 2 hours sleep I'm sure."
