LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hilaria Baldwin explained the peculiar relationship she shares with her husband, Alec Baldwin despite their 26-year age difference. The Baldwins share seven children together: daughters Ilaria Catalina Irena, 9 months, María Lucía Victoria, 2, and Carmen Gabriela, 9, as well as four sons Eduardo "Edu" Pao Lucas, 2, Rafael Thomas, 8, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 6, and Romeo Alejandro David, 5.
The strange thing about their relationship is that the 39-year-old yoga instructor often discovers herself being a mother to the 65-year-old 'Shortcut to Happiness' actor. "Am I his mommy?" Hilaria stated in an interview with Romper, "Sometimes I’m his mommy. Sometimes. At the beginning of our relationship, everyone was like, 'She must have daddy issues because she’s married to somebody older.' But it’s actually the opposite."
Hilaria has previously said on her 'Witches Anonymous' podcast that she once made assumptions about couples with significant age gaps and concluded that the "young bimbo" was "obviously a gold digger." But her own experience changed her outlook.
'Creepy relationship'
Evidently, what Hilaria said has offended the Internet. A user tweeted, "When he needs a diaper change." Another wrote, "Creepy relationship." "Eww, gross," remarked another user. Another user noted, "Well she already identifies as Spanish so why not add mommy to the mix." "Interesting how he portrayed Trump on Saturday night live and yet his wife is his mommy," claimed another.
Hilaria talks about family rituals
The couple got married in June 2012 after dating for a year and they made headlines when they gave birth to their seventh child, a girl named Ilaria, in September 2022. Hilaria's daily routines with her family seem quite dramatic. The 39-year-old told Romper that she miraculously gets to give each of her children two baths every day as "they'll literally just all line up" for her. "And we go 1, 2, 3, really fast, hair, shampoo in and out,” she added. "I spray them. When I was younger, I read ‘Cheaper by the Dozen.' And the only thing I remember about the book is that they figured out the most efficient way to use a bar of soap."
Alec, who just became a grandfather, said last month that he had forgotten to mention the name of one of his children while expressing gratitude to them for their support throughout his legal issues. His manslaughter conviction from the fatal "Rust" incident in 2021 was overturned a month earlier.
