LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lizzo has been making shocking headlines after being the target of major allegations made by her dancers. Three of her former backup dancers have filed a legal complaint accusing the singer and her production business of sexual harassment and of fostering a hostile work environment, Variety reports.
A report said some people even began questioning the lyrics of a well-known Lizzo song following the filing of the lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court against the artist, whose real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson, her production company Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc (BGBT), and Shirlene Quigley, captain of Lizzo’s dance team.
One of the suit's most stunning allegations is that dancers were coerced into touching naked dancers during a live sex show in Amsterdam's Red Light District, which is famed for its prostitution, sex theaters, nude bars, and clubs, out of fear of losing their jobs. The 'Truth Hurts' singer is also alleged to have made her staff "catch dildos launched from the performers' vaginas and eat bananas protruding from the performers' vaginas" and to have made her dancers undergo an "excruciating" 12-hour audition after accusing them of drinking before performances. Arianna Davis, who starred in 'Lizzo's Watch Out for the Big Grrrls' on Prime Video, alleges that she soiled herself during her audition because she was so afraid to use a restroom.
Greta Gerwig gets bizarrely dragged into Lizzo controversy
Lyrics of the song 'Rumors' from Lizzo's 2021 duet with Cardi B are going viral on social media following the allegations. The lyrics said, "Had to cut some hoes loose, yeah / NDA, no loose lips / Now them hoes tryna sue me / B***h, I don’t give two s**ts / All the rumors are true, yeah," as per Independent. When the music video clip reappeared on Twitter, many commented that it made them feel "so sick." While the singer's previous collaborators have spoken out in support of the plaintiffs, Greta Gerwig has been strangely drawn into the Lizzo controversy for using her music in 'Barbie'.
'Literally my first thought yesterday'
A fan on Twitter shared a GIF and said in the caption, "Greta gerwig seeing the lizzo allegations after making her the opening song for barbie." "That is crazy.." wrote another fan. "She's probably relieved that it happened after the movie was released rather than right before," responded another. "Literally my first thought yesterday," noted a fourth fan. A fan also claimed, "Good thing the movie already made bank." "That's what you f**kin get for putting bad music in your movie, idk what to tell ya," remarked another fan.
One fan tweeted in support of Greta, saying, "Lizzo fooled like 99.99% of people so greta was fooled like the rest of us." Another pointed out an eerie coincidence, stating, "Lizzo’s song being the way that we discover something is off in barbieland." Another fan simply claimed, "Greta knew lol." "Damn, Greta Gerwig thought about everything," said another. One person posted a shocked reaction GIF and wrote, "Greta foreshadowing??"
