Margot Robbie once faked own death because she didn't like her babysitter
Margot Robbie has recalled the time she faked her own death because she didn't like her babysitter. The Barbie star opened up about the hilarious event to Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2, which saw her cover herself in tomato ketchup and lie on the kitchen ground with a knife. The nanny's reaction made it worthwhile for Robbie, who ran out of the house screaming. "We got a new babysitter," the actress told Ball. "And I wanted my old babysitter back, Talia, who was like sixteen and I thought she was so cool." Robbie added: "And then we got this much older lady in and I was just not happy about it." Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter The final straw for Robbie was when her new nanny asked her to take a bath. "She told me to go have a bath and I didn’t want to, and she was very cranky and I thought, 'I’m going to show you,'" she joked. "And so I got a big kitchen knife and the ketchup and I lay sprawled out naked on the tiles, covered myself in ketchup and put the kitchen knife. "And I waited for like 45 minutes for her to find me. But, it was worth the wait." Ryan Gosling, who plays Ken in the hotly anticipated film, chimed in and said, "you produced your own death," to which Robbie admitted she had. Robbie went on to share another incident to prove she was a "dramatic child". "I also once practised like a pratfall on the cinema stairs at the shopping centre where I’m from," she told the BBC. "People started calling an ambulance so, I guess I was a bit of a dramatic child." Have your say in our news democracy. Lil Wayne says he can no longer remember his own songs
Lil Wayne has spoken about his issues with memory loss brought on by a number of health problems, saying that he can no longer remember many of his own songs. The rapper, real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., has been suffering with epilepsy and recurrent seizures over recent years. The 40-year-old said that early albums such as Tha Carter III, Tha Carter II and Tha Carter IV, hold “no significance” to him now as a result of the memory loss. Speaking in an interview with Rolling Stone, Lil Wayne said: “That’s just my God’s honest truth. You could lie, you could ask me (about) such and such song, I wouldn’t even know what we talking about. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter “I don’t even know if that’s when Tha Carter III came out. That’s how much I don’t know,” he added. "And also, I always look at it as the curse part of the gift and the curse. "I believe that [God] blessed me with this amazing mind, but would not give [me] an amazing memory to remember this amazing s**t." The musician is still planning to keep working, and won’t let his memory loss impact his plans for the future. “Even when you say it, I don’t think you actually mean stop working or doing music. You probably just mean you want to retire from everything else but the music,” he said. “When you’re an artist, a real artist like myself, I was born this way. So I don’t think that the real true artists and pioneers, they never retire. They died doing this.” Have your say in our news democracy. 'In the Fire,' Amber Heard's first movie after the Depp trial, goes up in flames
Those who fell victim to the over-the-top animosity directed at Amber Heard during the Johnny Depp trial -- as chronicled in the docuseries "Depp v. Heard" -- will alas have fresh ammunition thanks to "In the Fire," a pretty awful starring vehicle for the actor that she also produced, a film unlikely to produce many sparks beyond those set off by the morbidly curious.

MSNBC's Mehdi Hasan responds after Jordan Peterson labels him a 'Caucasian'
Jordan Peterson has labelled a brown man a “Caucasian”, and has unsurprisingly been slammed for doing so. British-American broadcaster and author, Mehdi Hasan, responded to the outrageous statement made about him by Peterson yesterday. Peterson, the rightwing celebrity psychology professor, posted on X/ Twitter, on 27 August. He said that Hasan was “not really brown. More like a light tan. Just like ‘white’ people.” He added: “Plus you're a Caucasian. By definition. Buddy.” In response, Hasan posted: “Nothing to see here, just Jordan Peterson, a white man, telling me I’m not brown, I’m actually white. Also, how am I a Caucasian, ‘by definition’?” Hasan is a Brit who was born to Indian parents from Hyderabad in the south of the country. They emigrated to the UK before he was born. In 2021, he tweeted that he was "tired of people telling me that I shouldn't take any pride in my south Asian heritage today, or that it has any relevance to my political views". "There's a word for this and it starts with R," he added. Hasan moved to America in 2015 to work as a producer and presenter on news TV. Now, he hosts his own show on MSNBC. It is unclear what definition of the word "Caucasian" Peterson is referring to. The Cambridge Dictionary defines the word as “belonging to the races of people who have skin that is of a pale colour”. Peterson’s bizarre attack on Hasan’s heritage was a response to a monologue by the presenter on his TV show. Hasan criticised white American conservatives’ attitudes in the wake of a mass shooting in which a white person killed three black people with an assault rifle. “Tonight, this brown Muslim is asking the white conservative community to do the same: get your house in order, crack down on the hate preachers... condemn the right of white supremacist ideology,” he said. Peterson did not respond to Hasan’s most recent post. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy.
