'Unreal scenes' as Sergio Ramos presents Shakira with award for her Pique diss track
The Latin Grammy's took place on Friday night and has been hailed for an epic piece on trolling as Shakira was awarded 'Best Song of the Year' for her diss track on ex Gerard Pique - which was presented to her by his former football rival Sergio Ramos. If you've been keeping track of the epic break-up between Shakira and Pique, you'll know that they separated in June last year after 11 years together, with the footballer being accused of cheating on the Colombian pop star. The break-up has hardly been peaceful with the former lovers using any opportunity they can to take very public digs at each other. The most notable of these digs is Shakira's record-breaking diss track about the former Barcelona and Spain defender 'BZRP Music Session #53.' The song, which is a collaboration with Karol G, also won Best Pop Song but it was the appearance of Ramos at the event in Seville, which really got people talking. Ramos, who played with Pique for the Spanish national team, winning both the World Cup and the Euros, would have been fierce rivals on the pitch too having clashed many times while playing for Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively. Although the interaction between the pair wasn't awkward, people couldn't help but revel in the scenes that were unfolding before their eyes. During her acceptance speech, the 46-year-old singer spoke of "tough moments" adding: "I also want to share this with my Spanish audience, who has been there with me through the good and bad times." "In those hard and tough moments I've experienced here in this country, I have loved so much but at no moment has stopped giving me love and support." Pique retired from football in November 2022 having played more than 600 games for Barcelona. Ramos, meanwhile, is still playing having recently rejoined Sevilla having enjoyed a glittering spell at Real Madrid before joining Paris Saint-Germain in 2021. Jake Paul 'fires' reporter for asking a question at Nate Diaz press conference
Jake Paul and Nate Diaz's press conference became heated when a reporter asked a bizarre question that resulted in him being "fired". The event, which took place at American Airlines Arena in Dallas, took an awkward turn when Derrick from Betr Media asked to fight Diaz's brother. "Nate, I'm actually a boxer myself and I have been trying to get on this undercard," he said. "I'm just wondering if you think I could fight your brother, Nick? If he's anything like you, I think I'd beat his f***ing a**." Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Diaz didn't respond to the seemingly lighthearted joke well. "You know my homeboys see you right now. That was stupid, huh? That was stupid," he told the reporter. Diaz added: "What’s your name?” @phillip.adair Jake Paul Fired his own Reporter Derek #jakepaul #natediaz #fyp #boxing #xyzbca #mustwatch #UFC #dazn #boxing? #reaction #fypシ #wow The reporter and aspiring boxer confessed he was "definitely pretty nervous right now" before reiterating his name and workplace. "Hey, Derrick from Betr Media, you’re a stupid a** motherf****r," Diaz said. "The f**k? You deserve to have your a** whipped." The interaction prompted Paul to intersect, explaining how he worked for his company and that he'd "handle that later." Paul apologised to Diaz, before saying: "I'll fire him later." "Derrick, shut up, shut up," Paul said, prompting him to apologise and take his seat. The footage was soon shared on TikTok, where users chimed in on the action. "It was obviously a joke," one person commented, while another added: "He didn’t even sound confident saying it." The fight is scheduled to take place on August 5 at the American Airlines Arena. The match has been spoken about for sometime, even before Diaz left the UFC last year. Have your say in our news democracy. 1989 (Taylor's Version): Live listen through
Taylor Swift has released her long-awaited re-recording of her 2014 hit album '1989.' The new release is Swift's fourth re-recorded album, following on from 'Fearless (Taylor's Version),' 'Red (Taylor's Version), and 'Speak Now (Taylor's Version). Swift's purpose in re-recording her back catalogue is so that she can own the copyright to all of the new recordings. This '1989' era marked a swift shift in music genre from country to pop for the singer, a risk that ultimately paid off as '1989' propelled Swift further into mainstream stardom and won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 2015. From the feel-good 'Shake It Off' to the anthemic tracks of 'Blank Space,' 'Out of the Woods' and 'Style' to the heartful and cathartic notes of 'This Love' and 'Clean,' Swift explores every avenue of pop. A journey that continues with the five 'From the Vault' tracks with 'Slut!', 'Say Don't Go,' 'Now That We Don't Talk,' 'Suburban Legends,' and 'Is It Over Now?' Now, indy100 is here to listen to '1989 (Taylor's Version) along with you, with commentary on every song as well as fun facts about the album. Welcome to New York October 27, 14:12 Taylor Swift performs at New Year's Eve 2015 at Times Square on December 31, 2014 in New York City. The opening track 'Welcome To New York' gave listeners a glimpse into Swift’s new pop sound with the electronic pop synths kicking things off. Not only does it reflect a change in music genre but also Swift’s literal move from Nashville to New York almost a decade ago as she shared how she fell in love with the city. "I approached moving there with such wide-eyed optimism and sort of saw it [New York] as a place of endless potential and possibilities,” Swift told Good Morning America about the song at the time. “You can kind of hear that reflected in this music and this first song especially." While the lyrics “And you can want who you want/ Boys and boys and girls and girls,” have been interpreted as Swift supporting the LGBT+ community, before she was vocal about her political views. The re-recorded version stays true to the original track with little tweaks to the production as Swift sings with a mature voice.
