LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Brad Pitt is "convinced" that Angelina Jolie took away their daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt to Jamaica on her 17th birthday to "spite him." Along with the exes' other daughter Zahara, 18, the actress and Shiloh attended the Calabash International Literary Festival.
"Brad would have loved to celebrate Shiloh’s birthday with her, but that wasn’t even an option. Of course, he can’t prove it, but he’s convinced Angelina purposely took the girls out of town to spite him," an insider claimed, reported OK Magazine.
Pitt hopes things will change once Shiloh is officially an adult
Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016 and a source revealed that their year-long feud over the custody battle is "far from over". Speaking about the 'Moneyball,' actor's excitement over Shiloh turning 18 next year, the source said, "He’s hoping that things will change once [Shiloh is] officially an adult."
"Angelina doesn't want to let her fight for sole custody, but the children are growing up, and even they tell their mom it's time to stop," said the insider. "The kids are fine with Brad. With maybe the exception of Maddox, they all actually like him. That really gets under Angie's skin. If she has her way, she'll continue to battle Brad for years. It's become a part of her," added the source. Among their children, the eldest ones are Maddox, 21, Pax, 19, and Zahara, 18, who are all legal adults now. The rest of the children are Shiloh, 17, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 14.
Jolie accused Pitt of choking one of their children
The duo whose scandalous affair began in 2005 got married nine years later in 2014 and broke up in 2016. As per the 'Maleficent' actress' filing in 2022, she accused Pitt of choking one of their children and also of striking another in the face. The filing claimed that when Jolie tried protecting their children, the 'Megamind' actor shoved her against one of the seats on a flight.
Pitt who was investigated by the FBI following the child abuse accusations then denied Jolie's allegations as he called them "completely untrue." According to a source, the 'Wanted' actress's abuse allegations against her ex-husband were her attempt to alienate her children from him. The agency concluded that there was no need to pursue criminal activity in the case.
Currently, Jolie and Pitt are also in the middle of a legal battle over their French winery, Miraval as the 'Se7en' actor sued the actress for selling her shares as he claimed her action was illegal, according to Radar Online.
