SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA: 'Vanderpump Rules' star Lala Kent took to social media to highlight her involvement in an inspiring animal welfare initiative. Teaming up with the esteemed organization PETA, Lala discussed her upcoming visit to SeaWorld Park & Entertainment's highly anticipated shareholder meeting on June 13. Her aim? To raise awareness and advocate for the release of an Orca Whale named 'Corky' from captivity and its relocation to a serene seaside sanctuary.
However, amidst the buzz surrounding Lala's noble efforts, the internet raised an eyebrow, pointing out the apparent irony between her actions and personal choices as an animal product owner. The online community sparked a spirited debate, showcasing the complexities of advocating for a cause while navigating personal lifestyle choices.
Lala Kent joins Peta to call out SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment
'Vanderpump Rules' star underwent a transformative experience after watching the powerful documentary 'Blackfish', igniting a fierce determination within her to halt the operation of SeaWorld and other marine parks. Lala's advocacy extends beyond words, as she graced a striking PETA ad alongside her 'Vanderpump Rules' co-stars, Scheana Shay, and, Ariana Madix, demanding the liberation of orcas which was titled “Free the Orcas."
Now, on a momentous occasion at SeaWorld's highly anticipated shareholder meeting on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, Lala will deliver an impassioned plea, urging the facility to grant a deserving captive orca named Corky a well-deserved retirement to a seaside sanctuary—an idyllic haven for the wild animal which so she so rightfully deserves. With Lala Kent as the driving force behind this call to action, the stage is set for a gripping showdown that could potentially change the course of Corky's life and revolutionize the plight of captive orcas forever. According to PETA, she will be raising an important question to the board holders saying, "When will SeaWorld do its reputation a favor by creating a plan to move Corky to a seaside sanctuary, where she would have the opportunity to feel currents, dive deep, and possibly even be reunited with her family?" Although this amazing initiative is something admirable coming from the 32-year-old star, the internet doesn't seem to be happy about her step to join PETA.
'She works with PETA with all those leather shoes'
The internet is not completely convinced that Lala is the right candidate to be a part of an animal welfare organization, like PETA. They accused her of using leather and also not having a basic sense of humanity and empathy for others. One user added saying, "It might rain leather in her closet." Another asked a question, "She works with PETA with all those leather shoes and leather handbags that she carries. Are you kidding me?" A third user made a sarcastic comment saying, "Ask her how much leather she owns…. I’ll wait." A fourth added in agony and said, "What a freaking crock of crap you cannot work with PETA and carry leather and wear leather coats, handbags, and accessories. She is a FRAUD." While some users called her out for her inhumane approach and her "bullying attitude", which they apparently witnessed during the show, as one user said, "The biggest question is why anyone taking what this idiot says seriously?" and another added, "She needs to stop!! She is a bully! How dare you allow her to promote the treatment of animals when she has no humanity for HUMANS!!!"
