LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘The View’ co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin has made it abundantly clear on the daytime talk show as well as her Twitter that she will not be supporting former president Donald Trump in the upcoming election.
However, Don Winslow, an award-winning American writer, has called out Griffin for previously supporting Trump. Prior to appearing on ‘The View’, Griffin had worked as the White House Director of Strategic Communications and Assistant during Trump’s presidency.
Winslow took to X (formerly Twitter) to call Griffin's stance as a “Donald Trump critic” “absurd.” ‘The View’ co-host has retaliated against the crime writer and continues to stand strong on her anti-Trump stance ahead of the 2024 presidential elections.
Don Winslow takes a dig at Alyssa Farah Griffin
Don Winslow took to X to share a tweet made by Alyssa Farah Griffin in 2020 when she worked at the White House for Donald Trump.
Griffin’s tweet read, “It’s been the honor of a lifetime to serve in the Trump Administration over the last 3 and a half years, first as Press Secretary to @VP Pence, then as Press Secretary for the @DeptofDefense, & most recently as White House Communications Director.”
Winslow tweeted a screenshot of Griffin’s tweet along with a picture of her on CNN as he wrote, “Lots of BS across Twitter but @Alyssafarah trying to sell herself now as a Donald Trump critic is just absurd."
He added, "She said "It's been THE HONOR OF A LIFETIME to serve in Trump administration" But then again she wouldn't be on CNN and The View if she didn't fake that flip. $$$$$.”
Alyssa Farah Griffin retaliates
After Don Winslow shared the tweet, Alyssa Farah Griffin responded to him in less than half an hour. She wrote back, “Don, u tweet at me constantly despite having never met me."
She then questioned, "Let me ask- is it your belief it would be better if I never spoke out & broke w/Trump? If I never cooperated w/DOJ or the 1/6 cmte? I shd just shut up & not warn people about what I saw & the threat I know Trump poses?”
Winslow replied to Griffin, saying, “Why didn't you warn people from 2016-2020? How could you say "it was an honor of a lifetime to serve in the Trump administration" after they caged children, separated families, lied to the American people over 30,000 times, concealed COVID was airborne, and 1000 other horrors?”
Griffin once again responded to Winslow, "I’ve spoken more times than I can count abt my past support for Trump. Donald Trump has used that same resignation letter to come after me. You didn’t answer my Q: do u, like Donald Trump, think because I once supported him, I must shut up & not speak out abt the threat he poses?”
After that, there has been no comment from Winslow, or a follow-up from Griffin, putting a brief pause or a potential end to their brawl.
