LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: '1000-lb Sisters' Tammy Slaton reportedly believed her estranged husband, Caleb Willingham, would die young owing to his bad habits, according to a source. Caleb died on June 30, yet the terrible news did not come as a surprise to most. Tammy, 36, thought Caleb, 40, "didn't care about getting better," according to a TLC insider, who added that even Caleb's friends and family were expecting his death due to his poor condition.
As documented on the TLC show, '1000-lb Sisters' Tammy and Caleb were both at the same weight reduction rehab center. Tammy was released in February 2022, while Caleb stayed in the Ohio clinic until the pair married in November 2022. However, even after spending months in the facility, his weight, food habits, and health saw no improvement. "Tammy was trying so hard to get him to turn around because she's like, 'Look, I did it,' and he didn't have the motivation or the willpower," the informer stated.
Tammy's acquaintance recently said that she 'wanted to get a divorce'
Tammy and Caleb were arguing shortly after her release about him not making an attempt to go with her to Kentucky, according to The US Sun. One of her acquaintances recently said that she "wanted to get a divorce because she has a husband who isn't getting better and doesn't care," adding, "They were best friends and were supporters of each other in the clinic, and [his death is] devastating for her."
The couple apparently split up in May because he refused to take his health seriously, as per The US Sun. Moreover, Tammy considered filing for a divorce but she eventually decided against it. "They split up because Caleb hasn't been following his diet in rehab," an insider alleged, adding, "He has gained 30 pounds and hasn't been working his program." According to another source, Tammy and Caleb were estranged and "didn't talk much" in the weeks preceding his death.
Having said that, Tammy did turn to social media to break her silence on the tragic news of Caleb's death. On her Instagram post, she wrote, "Rip sweet angel you will forever be missed and loved so much thank you Caleb for showing me real love and happiness ❤️❤️."
