LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: As the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, is rumored to be making a social media comeback, experts are claiming Prince Harry’s wife can "quickly become one of the most followed accounts on Instagram," earning as much as $1 million per post, according to Daily Mail.
An expert even went as far as to say that Markle could easily grab a place among the "top ten highest-paid influencers in the world."
Is Meghan Markle coming back to Instagram?
Recently, an Instagram account with a simple profile photo of pink peonies gained immense popularity in social media, with people wondering whether it could be the Duchess' making a comeback.
The account, which is named meghan, has garnered over 89k followers without having any posts.
A member of Markle's team reportedly confirmed the account belonged to her, saying, "Yes, that's her. Expect an announcement very soon. She's coming back," as per Daily Mail.
Another source stated, "Everyone in Hollywood is talking about the re-launch being imminent. Meghan has never made any secret of the fact she wants to return to Instagram," to the news outlet.
The mother-of-two even hinted at her Instagram comeback in an August 2022 The Cut interview with Allison P Davis, as she asked, "Do you want to know a secret?" before revealing, "I’m getting back…on Instagram."
"Meghan was set to go live on Insta, but changed her mind shortly before she launched her "Archetypes" podcast, so it’s just sitting there now," remarked one more insider to Page Six in early August, adding, "Meghan really did want to get back on Instagram."
How much can the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle earn from Instagram?
If sources are to be believed, Markle, with the virtue of being a former actress and a member of the royal family, can earn easily millions from her Instagram posts.
Kent Moore, a marketing expert who runs OneEyedSocial, said, "I think she would instantly shoot into the top ten highest-paid influencers in the world," as per Daily Mail.
He reasoned, "Her status is unique because she is a celebrity, actress, and royalty," before adding, "Meghan could charge a million dollars per post as an absolute minimum."
"That sum would rise quickly if her partnerships achieve global coverage and traction," explained the expert, continuing, "Brands could want to align with her for campaigns over a couple of years, featuring several posts and even personal appearances."
He forecasts, "Those types of deals could come in well over the $12 million (£9.5 million) mark and even as much as $20 million (£15.9 million)."
Another expert, Eric Schiffer, wasn't surprised to learn about Markle's social media return as he said, "I don't think Meghan coming back to Instagram will surprise anyone. She has a new talent manager and this is the next logical step."
"I would expect her to quickly become one of the most followed accounts on Instagram. You have celebrities like the Kardashians who can command $1 million (£790,000) and up for a single post promoting a product," added Schiffer, along with, "There is no reason Meghan couldn't be earning those sorts of fees."
However, he warned, "She has to be careful, as a Duchess, to avoid being seen to be hawking every product under the sun. She will align with quality brands and companies that are on point with her political and social beliefs."
