BIGHIT MUSIC, the band's label further emphasized at the time that BTS's hiatus would allow the members "take this time to achieve personal growth through various new activities, and we expect it to further strengthen the foundation for the group's long-run as a team."
Will BTS join the military?
BTS members J-Hope and Jin have already enlisted for mandatory service in the South Korean military for mandatory service, with Suga recently following the others after the end of his Agust D tour.

The band's agency HYBE reassured their fans that the bandmate's time away from being together would ultimately contribute to their longevity as a group.
Though RM admitted to having "a hard time on a human level" working apart and the challenges involved, he expressed his confidence in the band's potential for a great comeback during their second phase.
"When you are famous, staying on top is very difficult. But I think BTS will make it," RM told Spanish news agency EFE.
"It will come together again when we finish our military service, and we will look for new synergies between us to enter a second phase. But, in any case, nothing lasts forever."
Talking about what he feels about the journey, RM said, "This is a greatness of love… When I face this kind of love, I feel like it’s irresistible, and that’s what makes me go through all those trials and hardships and shit happening in life."
