Why was Ana Navarro censored? Fans applaud 'The View' host's candor as she delivers passionate rant

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ron DeSantis has been in the limelight recently, and it isn’t just because of the Republican primary. According to the Independent, DeSantis defended the Florida curriculum which claims that slaves benefited from the skills acquired during forced labor. The Governor of Florida has faced severe backlash for this statement and has even become a part of the Hot Topics segment on ‘The View’.

‘The View’ co-hosts have reacted to a clip of Vice President Kamala Harris criticizing the Florida government following DeSantis’ statement about slavery. Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro have all chimed into the conversation, but Navarro delivered an angry rant that was received well by the fans.

‘You can go to the Smithsonian’

The moderator for the segment, Goldberg, read out the topic, almost amused by the situation, “Florida’s board of education approved what they’re calling standards for African-American history. I feel like they didn’t talk to any African-Americans because we could have told them about the history. Nor has anyone seemingly gone to the Smithsonian to find out anything.” She then explained, “You know, there are all of these former slaves who have given their testimony. You can go to the Smithsonian and hear them, so apparently, they all think it’s a lie.” As Goldberg continued, she laughed and then apologized for doing so because the news was “so shocking.” ‘The View’ then played a clip of Harris, followed by DeSantis, after which Goldberg gave her co-hosts an opportunity to talk on the matter.

Navarro censored amid rant

Navarro, whose disdain for DeSantis is no secret, was the first to speak on this matter. She says, “You know, I live in Florida, I have been spitting mad about the culture wars that Ron DeSantis has been creating. So when he says that he has nothing to do with it, that’s bulls**t. And why is it bulls**t, because he has passed legislation, he has appointed a bunch of lackeys and minions to put that legislation into effect. He has created the environment that has led to this.” Reading out the updated curriculum, Navarro then went on to talk about slavery, “Slavery was the darkest moment of American history, our biggest shame. People got torn from their homelands. Men, women, newborns, put in the bowels of ships, shackled, and made to row from Africa to America, then brought here and sold off like cattle. Separated from their children. Beat. Whipped. Worked to death. Raped. How dare you? Shame on you people in Florida. How dare you try to whitewash slavery?”

Navarro, addressing the Florida Commissioner of Education Manny Diaz Jr, said, “And to the Commissioner of Education in Florida, Manny Diaz, a Cuban-American, that is like saying that there is a redeeming quality to Cuban political prisoners under Castro. When you don't have freedom, you don't have anything.” She ended her angry rant by mentioning DeSantis, “And for this man, Ron DeSantis, who apparently the only skill that he has acquired is lying and creating culture wars that he thinks are going to make him President. They’re not buddy, that’s why you’re 30 points down.” Amidst all this, ‘The View’ censored the word “bulls**t” twice, but fans couldn’t help but applaud Navarro’s words and the candor that she portrayed in this segment.

‘I love it when Ana is on fire’

‘The View’ uploaded this entire topic in two parts: the first primarily focussed on Navarro, and fans rushed to the comment section to talk about it. One fan wrote, “I love it when Ana is on fire and on point regarding ridiculous political positions. Her passion was wonderful.” Fans have found Navarro relatable after this segment as one commented, “Go Ana! THAT is exactly how many of us are feeling!” Another fan said, “Thank you Ana Navarro!!”

Viewers could feel the emotions Navarro felt as she spoke, with one person writing, “I felt Ana's rage in my bones.” Fans also urged Navarro to never stop speaking the way she does, saying, “Let's go!!Ana. I absolutely love you. Please never stop speaking out for what is right.” One fan summed up the emotion, which being resonated among all viewers, as they wrote, “Much respect for Ana.”
