NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert have split up.
On September 17, 2023, the 'Gonna Love Me' singer revealed the news in an Instagram post, denying that infidelity played a role in their split despite rumors of cheating.
"AHT AHT! Not too much on my bestie! In all fairness, Iman and I are separated and have been for a while," Teyana said alongside a photo of herself and Iman dressed as Wayne and Garth from Wayne's World.
The 'A Thousand and One' star went on to deny recent reports that she and the former NBA star's marriage is dissolving due to infidelity. "To be 1000% clear, "infidelity" ain’t one of the reasons for our departure," she counted. "We are still the best of friends, great business partners and are one hell of a team when it comes to co-parenting our 2 beautiful children. Most importantly we are FAMILY & in the 10yrs together, 7yrs married we ain’t ever played with or about THAT."
Teyana's statement went on to say that she and 'The Chi' star had opted to keep the news to themselves in order to provide a seamless transition for their family.
"We just keep y’all asses out the group chat lol, which is the reason we’ve been able to successfully & peacefully separate without all of the outside noise," she stated. "The only reason I’m even sharing THIS part of the chat is because the narratives are getting a little out of hand & it’s unfair to all parties involved. I hope this provided some clarity for y’all. Okay AunTey taking y’all back out the chat bye! 😘❤️🌹."
Iman has yet to respond.
Teyana's announcement comes after rumors spread on the internet that the former basketball star was cheating on Teyana.
Fans have also observed that Teyana and Iman, who have been open about their relationship for months, have not attended any events together and have not featured on each other's social media in months.

Teyana also spoke about what her mother meant to her growing up. "My mom worked in corporate America. Those hours are really crazy. So I had everything that I needed, but at certain times, I would feel like, 'I want you. I’d rather have nothing and you than to have it all and have you overworking yourself.' That’s at a young age, not understanding the importance of her building this life for me."
