SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA: Beyonce is adding another incredible achievement to her resume, mayor of Santa Clara. As per reports, the singer-songwriter wll be named teh honorary mayor of Santa Clara, California and given a key to the city.
“The city of Santa Clara is excited about Beyoncé’s upcoming visit to the world-renowned Levi’s Stadium,” Santa Clara spokesperson Michelle Templeton told the publication over a statement. “Her concerts will certainly bring a great deal of energy and excitement," she added.
When is Beyonce performing in Santa Clara?
Beyonce is performing in the city on Wednesday, August 30, as part of her ‘Renaissance Tour,’ as per The Mercury News. The outlet reveals that Santa Clara City Council will vote on Tuesday night, August 29, to pass over the title for a day from Mayor Lisa Gillmor to the superstar.
The proclamation read the ‘Break My Soul’ singer “has had a tremendous cultural impact as one of the most influential pop culture figures.” It also mentioned her numerous achievements, such as her 35 Grammys, and her philanthropic works.
Who else got the title of ‘honorary mayor’?
Last month, when Taylor Swift arrived in the Santa Clara city for her Eras Tour on July 28, and 29, the city council presented her with the ‘honorary mayoral title’ and even renamed the city as ‘Swiftie Clara’ for the two days.
On similar lines, cities including Atlanta and Mineeapolis called it ‘Beyonce Day’ during her tour visits.
When did the Renaissance World Tour begin?
Beyonce landmark Renaissance World Tour kickstarted on May 12, in Stockholm. After completing her European leg in late June, the singer headed back to North America. The tour will go all the way till late September.
Interestingly, Beyonce will be turning 42 on September 4, and she has a special request for her fans. The ‘Cut It’ artist recently wrote on her Instagram, “Virgo season is upon us. This tour has been such a joy and as we approach the last month, my birthday wish is to celebrate with you wearing your most fabulous silver fashions to the shows 8.23 - 9.22!”
Beyonce added, "We’ll surround ourselves in a shimmering human disco ball each night. Everybody mirroring each other’s joy. Virgo season together in a house of chrome. See you there!”
The Renaissance Tour is considered to be her highest-grossing tour ever. Some of the famour personalities who have already attended her tour includes Vice President Kamala Harris and husband Doug Emhoff, Madonna, Oprah Winfrey and Beyonce's sister, Solange Knowles.
