LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Former 'The Hills' star Whitney Port says she was devoted to living a healthy life amid remarks that she was "too thin." The 38-year-old also admitted she had never eaten pasta and that she consumed only 1,000 calories each day in order to meet the "constant pressure to look your best" in Hollywood.
The TV icon pledged to put her health first in an Instagram post on Monday, July 24, in response to fans' concerns about her appearance. She also stated that her husband, Tim Rosenman, had expressed the exact same feelings to her. "I've gotten a lot of comments about looking too thin," Port wrote as she shared a selfie of herself and her son, Sonny. "At first, it didn’t bother me. I chalked it up to people not knowing what my diet looks like. But Timmy brought it to my attention, as a good husband should, and said it's not just something strangers are spewing," she added.
Who is Tim Rosenman?
Rosenman is a TV producer who has worked on shows such as 'The City' and 'The X Factor'. He is a fashion designer, author and TV personality. He met Port while working as a field producer on the 'The City'. They got married in 2015 in Palm Springs, California, and have a son, Sonny, as per The List. "I definitely made the first move," she told Daily Mail in 2015, adding, "And I know, because of our jobs — because I was the talent and he was the producer — he wasn't going to cross that line. It had to be me, you know. We got really close while we were on the show but didn't start dating until after."
'But after stepping on the scale, it hit me'
Port acknowledged in her public post that Rosenman "has been worried about me." "I had to think about it and try to figure out what has been happening because it's not something I’m consciously thinking about! I eat to live, not the other way around. But after stepping on the scale, it hit me," she continued.
The former reality star claimed that maintaining a good appearance was "not something I strive for." "I always feel hungry but I just don’t know what to eat. It’s not how I want to look or feel though," Port continued, adding, "My excuses are that I’m too lazy to make feeding myself a priority or I’m too picky when it comes to taste and quality."
She further stated, "Both are unacceptable and I don’t want to set an unhealthy example so I promised Timmy and I’ll promise you that my health will be a priority."
Fans criticized Port's appearance in the comments section of a bikini shot a few days prior. "Is no one else concerned?" a fan commented. "Ab workout please," a second wrote. "I hope she’s alright I’m worried about her," a third said. Those abs!!! I think I’ll go do some planking now brb lol," another noted.
'I suffered from secondary infertility'
Port had candidly spoken about her personal struggles. She and Rosenman explored surrogacy earlier in July after having many miscarriages and wanting to grow their family. "I’m still figuring things out and nothing is, like, 100 percent yet and so it’s one of those things where you’re scared to put it out into the universe until you know what’s happening," Port stated in an interview, adding, "But for me, like, I suffered from secondary infertility, and it has just been such a process both physically and mentally to get to that second baby."
