HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA: Sophia Hoffman returned to 'The Voice' on September 25 after being removed from Season 23 of the NBC show.
However, when Sophia returned with the most recent season, she caused a tug-of-war between coaches Reba McEntire and Niall Horan.
Reba and Niall both turned their chairs when Sophia sang 'Tell Me You Love Me' by Demi Lovato.
The 18-year-old claims that she appeared on the show last season, but no judge sat in for her.
"I thought that because of that moment, I wasn't going to ever be where I wanted," the adolescent recalls of trying out for the show again.
However, the singer now has two possibilities for remaining in the competition!
Her voice is loud, throaty, and rangy. She performs an acapella verse. Reba takes the first turn. After a brief moment of thought, Niall presses his button. Niall almost pressed the button the final time. Sophia struggled after being spun around the last time.
Which coach did Sophia Hoffman choose on 'The Voice' Season 24?
Reba praises her amazing voice. Niall is impressed by the young singer's tenacity and maturity. She expresses her admiration for Jennifer Hudson. Reba dresses up in a queen's crown and scepter to impress Sophia, which becomes a running gag throughout the evening.
Reba has had several successful songs, according to Gwen Stefani. But, despite Reba's assurances of experience, Sophia selects Niall as her coach.
"Prince Niall is here, and he's coming for all of you," says Niall. "She was exactly what I was hoping for."
Sophia Hoffman auditioned for 'American Idol' before 'The Voice'
Sophia, 18, is presently studying psychology but hopes to change her degree to music management and pursue a career in music. She taped her Season 23 audition in September 2022, but the episode didn't premiere until March of the current year.
Sophia began singing when she was four years old. She learned to sing through watching YouTube videos, studying music, and performing in musicals. In her second year of high school, she began training with a voice coach.
Sophia went right from finishing high school to being a competitor on 'The Voice'. She auditioned for 'American Idol' and 'America’s Got Talent' and received a no, but then got a yes when she went for 'The Voice'.
Why was Sophia Hoffman rejected from 'The Voice' Season 23?
Sophia, 18, chose to sing the renowned Mexican ballad 'Amor Eterno' in Spanish during her Season 23 audition. Sophia couldn't contain her enthusiasm at the outset of the audition, and while she sang well, she couldn't sway any of the judges. At one point in the song, it appeared like there was hope for Sophia, as Kelly Clarkson and Niall both hovered over the button, but neither hit it.
Blake Shelton, the original coach, even mentioned how the rest were towering over their buttons, and Niall even apologized to the artist for not turning. Meanwhile, Kelly feels that another song would have better showcased Sophia's skill since she wanted to hear more highs and lows but didn't receive them. Chance the Rapper just states that it was nice and that he hopes she continues to sing.
'The Voice' airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8 pm ET on NBC. But if you miss it, you can watch Season 24 on FuboTV or stream it on Peacock.
