LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: American singer Ne-Yo's ex-girlfriend Sade Bagnerise has demanded primary physical custody of their two children along with immediate monthly child support. According to the documents obtained by RadarOnline, Sade wants her children -- Braiden and Brixton -- to stay primarily with her even though she agreed to share joint legal custody with her ex.
The legal filing stated that the 'Because of You' singer would be given visitation every other weekend along with alternating holiday parenting time. Sade further asked the court to award her temporary and permanent child support before detailing reimbursements for a significant percentage of the children's educational, medical, extracurricular, and other needs. The petition also noted that "[Ne-Yo] is the biological father of the parties’ minor children."
Ne-Yo demanded DNA test
This comes after Ne-Yo, whose real name is Shaffer Chimere Smith, slapped Sade with legal papers regarding one of their children. The "Miss Independent" hitmaker reportedly requested a DNA test to make sure that Sade's younger child, Brixton Bagnerise, is his. He further asked that Braiden's name be changed to Smith. Ne-Yo also asked that he be given a "liberal parenting time schedule" and "joint physical custody" of both children. According to the outlet, Braiden was born in 2021, while Brixton was born in February 2023.
Ne-Yo settled divorce with ex-wife Crystal Renay earlier this year
Ne-Yo has also been involved in another custody battle in recent months. The singer settled his divorce with ex-wife Crystal Renay earlier this year after it was determined he would pay up a staggering amount of $2 million, as well as giving her one of his Georgia properties, $20,000 for moving expenses and $150,000 to cover a brand new luxury car.
The 'Let Me Love You' singer also agreed to dish out $12,000 per month in child support for their shared children, sons Shaffer Jr and Roman, and daughter Isabella, and $5,000 per month in alimony for a period of three years. He married Crystal in 2016 and remained together until 2023 when their divorce was finalized. They share joint custody of their three children.
Who is Sada Bagnerise?
Although not much is known about her, Sada Bagnerise, who also goes by the name Sada Jenea, calls herself an influencer. In May 2023, she posted various videos of Ne-Yo performing at a club. She also uploaded a video of him dancing during a party. Their relationship came to light in a very bitter way, just after Ne-Yo’s wife filed for divorce alleging that he had a child with another woman out of wedlock in August 2022.
