LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Good Morning America' star Robin Roberts has missed another broadcast of the morning show. The 62-year-old ditched her anchoring duties for Monday, July 3 after she stepped out with her long-time partner and fiancee for an intimate date night in the city. The longtime 'GMA' co-host has been in a relationship with Amber Laign since 2005.
The two were set up on a blind date which Amber hilariously tried to cancel twice but when they finally did meet up, there was an instant connection and the two have been together since. Robin decided to head out for a date with Amber recently and shared a touching picture with her partner on Instagram.

Amber Laign and Robin Roberts have been together for nearly 18 years. Laign is a massage therapist and co-founder of Plant Juice Oils, a company that produces essential oils, including those containing CBD. The couple will celebrate their wedding anniversary on July 26. Like Roberts, Laign battled breast cancer and beat the disease. Although Roberts and Laign have been together since 2005, Roberts did not come out as a gay woman until 2013 and later came out publicly on GMA.
Roberts and Laign have decided to marry in 2023. The couple has not yet settled on a date but has set aside the current year as the date for the wedding. Roberts often refers to Laign as her biggest support system and often mentions the time Laign was by her side when she was undergoing treatment for breast cancer.
What did Robin Roberts and Amber Laign wear on the date?
In the photo shared by Roberts on Instagram with Laign, the GMA anchor sports a grinning smile while next to her partner. The anchor donned a sparkly blue blazer and white blouse coupled with a bejeweled necklace as she wore her brown hair down in soft curls. Laign however, hung her hair down around her shoulders in beachy waves as she also grinned in the picture.
Robin captioned her photo, "Special date night with Sweet Amber. Wishing all a fun, safe holiday weekend. #sundayvibes.” The pair enjoyed a fun night out after which Robin went missing from her usual Monday morning hosting duties on 'GMA.' Anchor Eva Pilgrim took Robin's place as regular host George Stephanopoulos was also missing from the studio action.
