LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: As the 4th of July holiday comes to an end, there are still a few co-hosts missing on the ‘Today’ show, which calls for fill-ins. This time around, joining Craig Melvin, Sheinelle Jones, and Dylan Dreyer was Peter Alexander. While everyone might miss seeing Carson Daly or Al Roker on their screen, Alexander has made sure that he makes up for their absence.
The ‘PopStart’ segment is a loved one, where everything pop culture is often discussed, and led by Daly. But, this time around it was Alexander’s turn to outshine his co-hots, who enjoyed every second of it as they doubled down with laughter. The part of the segment that had everyone swaying, laughing, and getting off their seats was karaoke!

Who is Peter Alexander?
If Alexander looks a little familiar, chances are you have seen him on the news. He is an anchor, cost, and correspondent who has been working with NBC since 2004. However, his reporting isn’t just limited to one show or station as he has previously appeared on NBC's Nightly News', NBC ‘Dateline', ‘Today’ show, and 'Meet The Press' amongst others. This is most likely why he might seem like a stranger when it comes to the 'Third Hour' segment on the ‘Today’ show. Alexander’s talents go beyond the USA as the talented news anchor has covered several stories internationally too. Although his karaoke with Melvin, Dreyer, and Jones proves he can do absolutely anything he sets out to do.
‘I don’t know the words’
The topic of discussion during the segment was Adele’s favorite karaoke song, and from there, it turned into a whole performance. Turns out, Alexander’s go-to karaoke song was ‘Livin’ on a prayer’ by Bon Jovi, which is a timeless classic. ‘Today’ show began playing the music in the background as the co-hosts encourage Alexander to sing. Looks like a little nudge was all he needed as he donned his rockstar phase and began singing. Soon enough, he stood up and he rocked some moves and the lyrics to go with it. By this point, Jones, Melvin, and Dreyer were all having far too much fun as they cheered him on amidst doubling down with laughter.

As Alexander sat down and finished his song, Melvin looked at him and said, “I can see you crushing some karaoke.” To this, Alexander fixed his suit and responded, “I don’t know the words per se, but I feel it.” Alexander definitely cheered up everyone’s mood after the post-holiday blues!
