LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK: Michael Rubin is the man of the moment after he hosted a star-studded Fourth of July bash in his Bridgehampton home on Monday. The party, attended by the top celebrities of Hollywood along with numerous sports personalities, went on from 5 pm to 4 am in the morning. Rubin’s trademark all-white party has earned a coveted spot in the celebrities’ summer calendar every year.
During an appearance on Barstools’ ‘Pardon My Take’ podcast, Rubin explained the process of selecting the guests for the exclusive party that takes place in his home. He said, “At the end of the year, we said who are the 75 people who added the least value, we cut them like a football team,” before adding, “You want someone who people are gonna love to be around, who are gonna be the life of the party, you’re gonna add value there.”
He further said, “I had someone offer me a million dollars to get two people in last year, to donate to charity, I’m like, you can’t buy your way into this party.” He added he had to have 90 security guards at the party to stop the trespassers.
Who is Michael Rubin?
Born on July 21, 1972 in a Jewish family, the businessman and philanthropist is the CEO of the billion-dollar company Fanatics, one of the world’s pioneer companies in licensed sports merchandise. He is the chairman of an e-commerce company which boasts an envious portfolio of websites like RueLaLa.com, Gilt.com, and ShopPremiumOutlets.com. He was also the founder of GSI Commerce, which he sold to eBay in 2011.
Rubin’s involvement with sports goes a long way back as he was also a partner in the Philadelphia 76ers and the New Jersey Devils till 2022. After that, he sold his stakes to Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment. With an estimated wealth of $10.2 billion, he was included in the ‘Forbes 400: The Richest People in America’, Forbes' World's Billionaires list, and the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
The 50-year-old business tycoon is a father of three. He was previously married to local dance teacher Meegan Rubin, with whom he shares his daughter Kylie. He later dated model Camille Fishel, with whom he had another daughter named Romi.
The successful businessman is also a philanthropist and launched a criminal justice reform organization called REFORM Alliance with Jay-Z, Meek Mill, Robert Kraft, and Daniel S Loeb in January 2019. He was honored as Sports Business Journal's Most Influential Person in Sports Business in 2021 and Sports Executive of the Year in 2022.
Rubin's star-studded all-white bash
The star-studded bash hosted by Michael Rubin saw the likes of Ben Affleck with wife Jennifer Lopez and daughter Violet, Justin and Hailey Bieber, Jay-Z and Beyonce, Emily Ratajkowski, Kevin Hart, Winnie Harlow, Corey Gamble, Kim Kardashian, and Kendall Jenner. Rubin also invited the French soccer star Kylian Mbappe and the American football legend Tom Brady.

There were performances by Ne-Yo and Usher at the party. Travis Scott, Jack Harlow, and Druski all graced the DJ booth to make the night memorable for the guests, as per Complex.
A June article published by Page Six revealed that the billionaire businessman was bringing some of the best food joints in New York City to his summer soiree. Food was said to be delivered from the celebrity favorite Brooklyn pizza spot Lucali and another Chelsea restaurant Cucina Alba. Rubin’s friend Kevin Hart was expected to supply a few items from his restaurant, Hart House. Jay-Z’s Armand de Brignac Ace of Spades champagne was also said to be a part of the menu.
