FLORIDA, UNITED STATES: Lindsie Chrisley has revealed that her boyfriend wants to follow tradition and get permission from her imprisoned father, Todd Chrisley, before proposing to her.
During the latest installment of her podcast, 'Southern Tea,' the 33-year-old was posed with a hypothetical scenario about her boyfriend, Trent, asking for her hand in marriage.
Speaking about her feelings, Lindsie, who is known for her role in 'Chrisley Knows Best', revealed that her current partner follows more traditional customs and she would probably ask her father for his blessing before popping the question.
Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley's prison sentences
A major hurdle, however, is the fact that Todd is currently serving a 12-year prison sentence.
This conviction follows charges against him and his wife, Julie Chrisley, for orchestrating a scheme to defraud banks of more than $30 million by creating fake financial statements to feign greater wealth.
Julie, meanwhile, is serving a seven-year sentence in connection with the same case. The incarceration of her father, Todd Chrisley, presents Lindsie with a complex and difficult situation.
Who is Lindsie Chrisley dating?
Lindsie Chrisley is reportedly in a relationship with a man named Trent. A review of his social media profiles, both on Instagram and Facebook, revealed that Trent is the father of two young children and was previously married.
It has also come to light that Lindsie's boyfriend is a teacher, adding another layer to his identity.
When questioned about the potential next step in her relationship with Trent, whom she recently introduced to the public through an Instagram post, Lindsie responded, “I mean, I don't know. I have never asked him about that. It's a tricky situation with my parents being incarcerated," she continued. "What would that even look like? How do you even approach that?”
She continued, “You don't just sign up and go on a weekend visit and be like, 'Hey, by the way, nice to meet you. I want to marry your daughter.' Like, to me, that's not appropriate.”
Lindsie Chrisley’s big revelation to FBI
In 2019, Lindsie made a significant disclosure to FBI investigators: she stated that her father Todd and half-brother Chase had threatened to release a sex tape of her if she didn't comply with their request that she fabricate a false report about a certain "incident."
This incident was widely interpreted to pertain to the family's alleged financial misconduct. Lindsie also appeared on the 'Dr Phil' talk show to address the alleged extortion.
At that time, Todd issued a statement denying the existence of any such sex tape and refuted any involvement in attempting to extort Lindsie.
Paradoxically, he also claimed that his daughter, who was then married, had engaged in extramarital affairs with multiple individuals from the reality TV show ‘The Bachelor’ since 2016.
