LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The 14-year-old rapper and influencer Lil Tay's death news is getting some direction. Many were in doubt after her manager and father denied to confirm the reports of her death. Now it has been confirmed as a hoax and Tay is still alive.
Dynasty Jenkins posted a tribute to her on Instagram. Dynasty, who is a 26-year-old social media star and singer, claimed that she had lost one of her “closest friends” and shared photos and a video of them together.
Who is Dynasty Jenkins?
However, Lil Tay’s father and former manager did not confirm the news of her passing, and the police also had no records of her death in either Vancouver or Los Angeles, where she had lived as reported by Business Insider.
On Wednesday, Lil Tay, whose real name is Claire Hope, someone posted a statement on her verified Instagram account, announcing that she had died “suddenly and tragically” and that her death was “under investigation”. The post now stands deleted.
The statement also revealed that her 21-year-old brother, Jason Tian, who had managed her online persona, had also died. The post did not specify the cause or date of their deaths.
'I lost one of my closest friends'
Dynasty Jenkins is one of the few people who have seemingly confirmed Lil Tay’s death on social media. She posted two photos of them on a rooftop and a video of them dancing on Instagram, along with a broken heart emoji.
She wrote, “I lost one of my closest friends.” However, it is unclear when the pictures and the video were taken or how close Dynasty was to Lil Tay." Many people commented on Dynasty’s post, expressing their condolences or their doubts about Lil Tay’s death, Daily Mail reported.
Some noted that Lil Tay did not look happy in the photos and wondered if she was being forced to pose with Dynasty. Others asked for more details about what happened to Lil Tay and her brother.

Dynasty Jenkins has over 609K followers on Instagram and over 300,000 subscribers on YouTube. She is also a singer who has released songs such as 'Bad Girl', 'Savage', and 'Money'.
She is known for her colorful hair, tattoos, and outfits. She has collaborated with other influencers such as Woah Vicky, Bhad Bhabie, and Lil Pump. Dynasty Jenkins did not respond to questions or comments about Lil Tay’s death on her Instagram account. She has also not posted anything else since her tribute to Lil Tay.
It was a hoax
Lil told TMZ, which was also reported to have deleted the article regarding her death earlier, “I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I’m completely heartbroken and struggling to even find the right words to say."
“It’s been a very traumatizing 24 hours. All day yesterday, I was bombarded with endless heartbreaking and tearful phone calls from loved ones all while trying to sort out this mess.”
“My Instagram account was compromised by a third party and used to spread jarring misinformation and rumors regarding me, to the point that even my name was wrong. My legal name is Tay Tian, not ‘Claire Hope.'”
