LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Everyone loves a good proposal story, and ‘Today’ host Craig Melvin is here to provide viewers with exactly that. As the 4th of July holiday has everyone busy with their celebrations with family, friends, and loved ones, the ‘Today’ show has made sure everyone continues to stay entertained. Who better to do that than Melvin and a proposal story?
In a clip shared by the ‘Today’ show on Instagram, Melvin talks about his wife and how he proposed to her. While the story is equal parts funny and embarrassing, Melvin’s storytelling is what makes it entertaining for everyone. Melvin and his wife, Lindsay Czarniak, have been married since 2011, and have two children together, as he recollects his proposal story on the ‘Today’ show.
Who is Lindsay Czarniak?
Besides being Melvin’s wife, Czarniak has an established sports anchor and reporter career. The husband-wife duo clearly have a lot in common, apart from their love for one another. Czarniak has previously worked for ESPN and currently works with Fox Sports for the NFL games. One of Czarniak’s biggest accomplishments includes hosting the NBC Sports coverage for the 2008 Summer Olympics in China. Czarniak is a devoted reporter, wife, daughter, and mother as she shares a wholesome relationship with Melvin, as well as her children, Delano and Sybill.
‘I’m gonna throw up’
The ‘Today’ show took over Instagram to share Melvin’s proposal story as the caption read, “Awww, we get it, though! 🚤 😂 @craigmelvinnbc shares the story on TODAY of how he proposed to his wife, @lindsaycz, on a boat in Miami! 🧡” Melvin sat back on the couch as he talked about his story, “Well, we were on a boat off the coast of Miami. I got down on one knee. I scripted the whole thing in my head. I popped the question. And then Lindsay’s response was, “I think I’m gonna throw up.”” His co-hosts couldn’t help but laugh as they chalked her response up to motion sickness or overwhelmed excitement.
Melvin simply shrugged and repeated, “She just said I’m going to throw up, and I waited for a few seconds because I was like…yes? Yes? And she eventually said yes, obviously.” Melvin also clarifies that Czarniak did not end up throwing up during or after the proposal. The couple have been married since and continue going strong even today.
