LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In the wake of recent news about the divorce filing by Sam Asghari, Britney Spears' mom Lynne Spears, is supposedly "begging" her daughter to leave Los Angeles and return home to Louisiana and live with her.
This revelation comes just one day after it was disclosed that Sam, 29, has initiated divorce proceedings against Britney, 41, his wife of 14 months.
According to an insider, Lynne is "furious" at Sam for not standing by Britney during a difficult period. "He took a vow to stand by her side through sickness and health - and he knew she was not well [when they married]," as per a Daily Mail exclusive.
Where does Lynne Spears live?
The departure of Sam from Britney's Thousand Oaks residence has prompted Lynne to implore her daughter to leave Los Angeles and return to their hometown of Kentwood in Louisiana.
She hopes Britney can "heal and regroup," instead of spiraling.
The insider further revealed, "LA is toxic and the only thing keeping her there was [Sam]. Lynne believes she can heal and regroup in Louisiana, then return to LA when she is ready."
The family source also emphasized that Sam's departure and the subsequent divorce has upset Britney's family deeply.
"Instead of working with her family to get her help, [they feel that] he abandoned her as soon as things got tough," the source said.
Britney's journey has been tumultuous, marked by a 13-year conservatorship that recently came to an end.
Since 2010, just after the conservatorship was put in place, Lynne has resided in a newly-constructed 3-bedroom home in Britney's hometown of Kentwood.
Jamie Spears, Britney's dad, had claimed that Britney's estate, during the conservatorship period, "spent $2M of Britney's money" on Lynne's Louisiana mansion, including costs like maid service and maintenance.
At the time, Lynne reportedly had little if any involvement in Britney’s life.
"Lynne has had only limited involvement in Ms. Spears’ life these last thirteen years. She has not had a parental role in her life for decades,” Jamie Spears' lawyers argued during the conservatorship battle, as per The Sun.
Jamie’s legal team also stated, "Despite their estranged relationship, the Conservatorship Estate, during the entire duration of the Conservatorship, has paid and continues to pay for the mansion in Louisiana where Lynne lives."
Since Britney will be alone after the divorce, her family is trying to ensure her well-being without resorting to another conservatorship.
The family source expressed the urgency of the situation, stating, "Family and friends feel it is truly at the point of life and death and they have to save her."
Another source added: "She has been lonely and has been really sad that her kids are gone."
They continued, "She's still working on her relationship with her sister and family, but she is just alone and her only real outlet for anything to make her happy is her times when she puts up her dancing videos on Instagram."
"It isn't a really good time for Britney right now, she is not in a good space," they added.
Despite the hardships, there have been positive developments in Britney's personal life, including her reunion with her estranged mother, Lynne. She has also made the effort to rebuild her relationship with her sister, Jamie Lynn.
Sam and Britney started their relationship in 2016 and had a grand wedding in June 2022. However, their marriage ended after Sam filed papers to legally separate on August 16, just 14 months later.
Sources say their separation was initiated by Asghari, who has accused the pop star of cheating on him. Despite all the turmoil, Britney's upcoming book, scheduled for release in October, will not include details of the recent split.
