QUEBEC, CANADA: xQc recently declared that he would stop creating reaction videos, but there's a catch. He said he'll stick to the vow only if he loses in the upcoming Sidemen Charity Match, amplifying his stakes in the event to another level.
Notably, the annual Sidemen Charity Match stands as a pinnacle event on the YouTube landscape, bringing together the biggest names from the influencer realm for a spirited football game. This year, the spotlight has turned to xQc as he was officially revealed to be a participant for the September 9 showdown.
Yet, xQc didn't simply settle for being part of the team, as he took it a step further by making a significant bet that can possibly reshape his content direction if his team happens to face defeat.
xQc vows to give up 'react content'
Once his participation was announced, the French-Canadian personality took to platform X, previously known as Twitter, to elevate the stakes. He declared that if his team falls short, he will bid farewell to creating reaction content.
Reaction videos have sparked significant debate recently, as numerous creators have been accused of appropriating content by producing videos where they simply "react" to existing YouTube content. In the post, xQc wrote, "IF I LOSE I WILL NO LONGER DO REACT CONTENT. IT’S BEEN A PLEASURE."
'Reaction content is real content'
As soon as xQc posted about the vow, fans started replying with their thoughts. One user wrote, "if you don't do react content the world will be missing real value <3," while another stated, "Even if you win you still shouldn’t."
"Wait we going back to ow2 streams all day," said one more, with a user declaring, "REACTION CONTENT IS REAL CONTENT." "Looks like there won't be anymore react content from xQc," quipped a fan.
