"On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several day stay in the ICU," the singer's manager mentioned while announcing her sudden hospitalization, adding, "Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. Why was Narcan given to Madonna?
The 'Like a Virgin' singer was reportedly given a shot of Narcan injection to revive her as she was found in an unconscious state, as per Radar. Naloxone, which is mostly known by the name Narcan, is occasionally given in an emergency to treat an opioid overdose as a treatment to counter decreased breathing. However, there is currently no indication that the "Queen of Pop" was given Narcan due to drug usage, as the medication is sometimes used to improve blood flow in patients with septic shock.

What is Narcan?
Narcan is a quick-acting medicine that comes in a variety of forms, like an injection and a nasal spray, and it primarily contains naloxone. The injectable items include the Generic Narcan 0.4 mg/mL and 1 mg/mL, "Zimhi" 5 mg auto-injector, a kind of injection device, and Generic Narcan 10 mg auto-injector, which is solely intended for use by the military or first responders in specific circumstances, as per Good Rx Health.
Narcan is an emergency medical procedure that is frequently used to undo the potentially fatal consequences of a suspected overdose. However, it is also employed to treat individuals who have acute septic shock, a condition Madonna is believed to have experienced. The injection is thought to be helpful in raising blood pressure in cases of septic shock, as low levels of blood pressure can be fatal.
