NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Cara Delevingne is loving her new ‘booze-free’ life! The supermodel in a recent interview talked about the current state of mind. “It hasn’t [been easy], but there have never been moments when I’m like, ‘This isn’t worth it.’ It’s been worth every second. I just don’t know what it would take for me to give it up. I am stable. I’m calmer,” she said.
The 30-year-old actress had struggled with substance abuse in the past. In fact, in one of the incidents, paparazzi captured her ‘erratic behavior’ at the airport. The ‘Carnival Row’ actress said, “It’s heartbreaking because I thought I was having fun, but at some point, it was like, ‘OK, I don’t look well.’' She further added, “It’s a scary thing to the people around you who love you. At that point, there were a lot of people who were very worried, understandably so.”
What did Cara Delevingne say on her sobriety journey?
The model-turned-actress had struggled with alcohol addiction and relapsed several times during her earlier trip to rehab, “I wasn’t ready. That’s the problem. If you’re not face-first on the floor and ready to get up again, you won’t. At that point, I really was,” said Delevingne before adding, “All I knew is if I was continuing to go down the road I was, I would either end up dead or, like, doing something really, really stupid.”
Cara Delevingne also touched upon her future plans and having babies, “I’ve got my eggs to freeze. Stuff to figure out.” She also plans on getting rid of a few tattoos, in order to give herself ‘a fresh start.’
'The script is incredible'
She told Elle UK, “You couldn’t get tattoos because it was part of your modeling contract, and they kind of owned your body.” In an act of rebellion, she tattooed a lion’s head on her finger and later got a few more. The artist will be working in a Patricia Highsmith biopic, which includes Shailene Woodley, and French actress Noemie Merlant. “The script is incredible,” Delevingne is excited to play her character in this love triangle movie. Keeping all her expectations at bay, The ‘Only Murderers in the Building’ actress said, “It’s not easy. Like anything, it’s a practice. I’m just taking it day by day. The projects I’m doing are things I really care about.”
