NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Monday, August 14, ‘Today’ broadcast Carson Daly was reportedly missing from the NBC show, and beloved co-host Sheinelle Jones filled in for him during his usual PopStart segment.
None of the ‘Today’ hosts have revealed Daly’s whereabouts or why he was absent from the morning show.
Meanwhile, Daly’s son, Jackson, 14, has already stepped into his father’s footsteps as he made his debut on ‘Today’ show in March.
Jackson has interviewed Blake Shelton on ‘The Voice’ and has been hosting a segment on the ‘NBC News’ Nightly Kids Edition.
Where is ‘Today’ Carson Daly?
During a recent ‘Today’ episode, Daly’s absence was clearly notable during the PopStart segment which he usually hosts.
His co-anchor, Sheinelle Jones was candidly seen taking over his spot for the day to carry on with the segment. While Jones discussed several topics such as Jeremy Renner’s recent selfie after nearly losing his life in a snowplow accident.
Daly was the only host to be missing from the show after the weekend as Al Roker, Savannah Guthrie, Dylan Dreyer, and Hoda Kotb were seen in their usual spots.
Also, neither Daly nor his co-hosts mentioned where he had gone or why he is away from the show.
‘Today’ Carson Daly’s proud dad moment
Earlier last week, Daly revealed during his PopStart segment about his son interviewing A-list hip hop sensation, LL Cool J.
His 14-year-old son has made his dad proud as he sat down to ask LL Cool J a few questions about the music industry on the occasion of 50 years of hip hop industry.
Daly recalled his son as the “most hard-hitting journalist around” and “former PopStart graphics assistant”.
He explained that his son, Mr Jackson Daly, had the chance to sit next to the rapper. The segment displayed a short clip of Jackson and LL Cool J interview where the hip-hop icon was donning a black T-shirt, hat, and chain necklace.
Jackson asked LL about his thoughts on “where hip hop’s headed now” as it has “changed a lot over 50 years.”
Daly exclaimed that his son did a “great job” and “LL was so sweet.” Moreover, Craig Melvin chimed in and said, “Jackson Daly? He’s gonna be quite the journalist.”
Daly replied enthusiastically, “I hope so, I hope not a rapper. His journalism skills are good."
