LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Today’ host Al Roker is having the time of his life as he vacations with his wonderful wife Deborah Roberts, and son Nick. Roker, who often seems to worry his fans with health scares, is enjoying a break from the morning show and posted a sneak peek from the vacation on his Instagram account.
When the American meteorologist shared highlights on his Instagram from his vacation with Deborah and Nick, his fans could not stop praising Roker, admiring his lifestyle change. They applauded him for having "a wonderful time" as he took another break from the morning show. Roker has been away for a while and also shared his excitement of becoming a grandfather for the first time as he welcomes his granddaughter Sky Clara Laga.
Al Roker’s vacay getaway
Roker, 68, delighted his followers with snapshots from his recent lunch date with his son Nick at a retro diner in New York. In one photo, the father-son duo posed outside the diner, with Nick smiling widely while Roker's face was partially cut off. Another picture captured their beaming smiles as they sat together in a booth inside the eatery. A third image showcased their appetizing plates with sandwiches and french fries. Roker expressed his enthusiasm for the outing in the caption and wrote, “Nick and I hopped off the #taconicparkway for #lunch at the legendary @wtdiner #westtaghkanicdiner.”
Earlier in the week, Roker also shared a video of his wife Deborah confidently driving a pontoon boat during their family's lake getaway. Deborah looked stylish in a white and yellow top over a bikini, donning a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses. Nick cheered on his mother from behind, commending her driving skills. “Good job, Mom!” he said in the background. Roker lauded Deborah's piloting abilities in his caption, “First time piloting the pontoon boat on our lake, Capt @debrobertsabc and #firstmate Pepperdid a heckuva job.”
‘Living your best life’

Al Roker becomes a grandfather
Roker and Deborah have two other children -- a daughter named Leila and Al's daughter Courtney from his previous marriage. While they were not present on the recent trip, it was for a valid reason as Courtney had just given birth to her first child. Roker shared his joy and introduced his granddaughter in a caption on Instagram, “And then this little girl came into my life. Welcome to the world, Sky Clara Laga. In love all over again.”
He expressed gratitude to Courtney and her husband Wesley Laga and wrote, “Thank you, Courtney and Wes, for such a perfect blessing. Your baby is beautiful.” The news of Roker becoming a grandfather was announced by his 'Today' co-host Craig Melvin who said, “Our own Al Roker has become a grandfather."
