LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Henry Cavill’s fantasy-filled series ‘The Witcher' is sailing smoothly in its third installment. The fourth episode, ‘The Invitation’, sees Geralt of Rivia off on a new adventure to Aretuza with Ciri and Jaskier by his side. However, the sea voyage to the destination becomes a test of Ciri’s abilities as a ‘Witcher’ and the future Queen of the kingdom. Yennefer however is away from them, massaging the egos of the leaders of all the houses on the continent.
She calls for an alliance between Verden, Kaedwen, Temeria, Aedrin, Lyria, and Redania to fight the raging armies of Nilfgaard. But the council is divided. Yennefer’s desperate pleas are reluctantly accepted as she appeals to the vision of togetherness of the Brotherhood. Meanwhile, Cahir is appointed by Emhyr to look for Ciri and also tells him to ally with the Elves to further his cause. But Geralt learns of a plot in a castle that he visited where young women are held captive by a monster who is performing a horrible experiment on them. Although, there’s much more to it which Geralt later reveals to Ciri, who after all the training to become a Witcher, doubts herself to become a Queen.
Geralt instills confidence in Ciri
Princess Cirilla of Cintra, daughter of Pavetta and Emhyr var Emreis and also known as destiny of Geralt after a long stint of training at Kaer Morhen, believed that she is ready to take on any monster. Geralt tells her that she’s on the path to becoming a Witcher but that path is far too long and tumultuous. She still has to work and hone her skills to take on any monster. But Geralt is delighted to admit that Ciri will be a great Queen someday. She even has the Elder Blood which Elves are looking for and her grandmother Calanthe, raised her right to become a leader of a kingdom.
Geralt’s words come to life when the ship is under attack by a sea monster. Ciri takes charge and fights the monster but needs help to finish him off from Geralt. She has struck with a sudden realization that she still needs a lot of training before she can take on the monsters all by herself. Ciri who was earlier reluctant to come to Aretuza, now learns from Geralt that the castle that he visited, had young women who were implanted with Ciri’s memories, leading one girl named Teryn to believe that she was Ciri. Some Mage was behind this sinister plan and Geralt vowed to expose him.
Geralt and Ciri reunite with Yennefer
Yennefer was already in Aretuza propositioning all the houses to come together to fight Nilfgaard. But when Geralt arrives with Ciri and Jaskier, Yennefer informs Geralt of a lavish ball being held before the Council of Brotherhood could meet and vote together to fight Nilfgaard. Geralt and Yennefer discuss their suspicions about Stregobor who Geralt believes is behind the sick experiment that he witnessed at the castle. Yennefer concurs as she reveals that while traveling through a portal to Redania, she landed up in Black mountains next to a stormy sea and saw Geralt trying to kill her. She knew that the portal was corrupted and raised her suspicions on Stergobor who was the only man against the togetherness of the Council to fight Nilfgaard.
