LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Voice' Season 24 fans' hearts were left broken as they witnessed the season's first rejection. Sam Dearie stalled to get any chair turned.
Sam who currently lives in Lebanon, Ohio calls himself a "musician." He came on the show as one of the youngest talents. He is just 20 years old.
Besides being a singer, Sam is also a songwriter and a guitar player. He is often seen flaunting his music skills on social media as he posts videos and photos with a guitar in his hands.
Even though Sam was turned down on NBC's singing show he seems to be doing well in life. A few days before, the musician revealed on Instagram that he managed to bag 3 gigs this week.
Indeed, it seems Sam is managing to flourish as a singer and a musician despite being rejected from 'The Voice' Season 24.
Sam Dearie's 'Walking After Midnight' performance gets no chair turn from 'The Voice' coaches
Sam Dearie sang 'Walking After Midnight' by Patsy Cline. Hi "country and crooner style" impressed the judges but not so much that they would have turned their chair for him.
Gwen Stefani claimed after Sam's performance, 'You reminded me so much of Elvis (Presley), he has that, like vibrato that you do." She then went on to claim, "But maybe it was more just about choices in the performances."
Gwen claims that Sam' performance felt a "little bit untamed" to her. John Legend agreed to this, saying, "When there's so much shake, sometimes it kind of leads you off of the note."
John believed Sam doing 10% better the next time would get him on the show.
Niall Horan added his constructive criticism saying, "You need to sing a little, touch more straight and then shake on the end of the words."
Niall thanked Sam for coming on the show as he claimed, "You still got so many years to grow into that voice."
