LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Source' anchor Kaitlin Collins interviewing Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville isn’t just a hot topic on ‘The View’, but all over the country right now. Tuberville was questioned about White nationalists, and his response has caused quite an uproar among everyone. ‘The View’ is best known for picking apart ongoing political controversies, and this particular one made it to the top of their list.
Tuberville seemingly portrayed that he wasn’t aware of White nationalism or White nationalists, and this struck a chord with the co-hosts on Tuesday, July 11, ‘Hot Topic’ segment. Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Sara Haines, all of whom are spread out between being left-wingers, right-wingers, and centrists had something to say about Tuberville.
‘Don’t BS us’
‘The View’ played a clip of the interview with Collins, where confused Tuberville tried to defend himself saying that he was ‘110% against racism.’ This comes after he said that it was just 'some people's opinion' that White nationalists are 'racist'. Once the clip ended, the camera focussed on a confused Goldberg, and before she could say anything, Behar spoke up, “he’s a racist himself. It sounds like that because he in 2011, he was a college football coach and he appeared on Fox News and supported Trump’s birtherism against Obama, okay? That was one.” Behar continued looking down at her cue cards as she continued, “he claims as the senator, he claimed that immigrants were bringing in drugs and diseases…he’s on that team. He’s got that same mentality so don’t BS us, we’re on to you.”
Co-hosts agree with Behar
More often than out, all the co-hosts on ‘The View’ have polarizing points of view when it comes to politics, but Tuberville seems to have gotten everyone on the same page for once. After Behar addressed the situation, Haines chimed in by saying that Tuberville seemed ‘confused’ or ‘ignorant’ when it came to White nationalism. Throughout this entire segment, Behar was in a sour mood and that was visible on her face. Griffin also gave major props to Collins for continuing to press on when it came to Tuberville, revealing his ignorance.
