LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘The View’ has been on summer break for a little while now, and the fans have dearly missed their favorite talk show. Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, and Alyssa Farah Griffin have all been missing from our screens for quite some time. In addition to that, ‘The View’ stopped posting little clips on their social media too, which is very unlike the talk show.
Nevertheless, ‘The View’ is almost back, and so is its social media presence. The talk show took over Twitter with a picture of Whoopi Goldberg to announce their return. Although, they probably didn’t receive the excited response that they were expecting. The viewers and the internet have slammed ‘The View’s tweet with negative comments. Could this potentially affect their viewership after the summer break?
‘See you soon, America!’
In a rather enthusiastic tweet, ‘The View’ has made a comeback as the tweet said, “#HotTopics are back LIVE tomorrow! ✨ See you soon, America!” As much the guest appearances are appreciated on ‘The View’ the ‘Hot Topics’ segment gets all the attention from the audiences. In the last few weeks that ‘The View’ hasn’t aired, a lot has happened around the world, especially in US politics. It will be interesting to see how much of it is covered live as the likes of Hostin, Navarro, and Griffin take center stage once again, the most engaged and enraged hosts when it comes to politics. The focus, however, remains on everyone’s reaction to this tweet, and by the looks of it, not a lot of people are looking forward to ‘The View.’
‘Cancel them’
The internet hasn’t been kind, and it looks like some people want ‘The View’ to be gone for good as one person writes, “Cancel them. They lie. Don't know who watches😅” and another said, “This has been should resign.” In addition to this, some people have also compared ‘The View’ to ‘Good Morning America’ as one user writes, “Ur all about the rating just like @gma.”
An entire week without the talk show left some fans disappointed but other viewers of ABC seem pleased with it as one viewer says, “It was a FANTASTIC week without their BS? Will they mention. HB or sweep it under the rug and yammer about “you know who”?” There has also been some ageism in these tweets, with Behar being the senior host at 80 as one tweet reads, “Nobody cares about your menopausal out of touch views..” Finally, one user has managed to sum up the feelings of quite a few people with the ‘The View’ returning as they write, “That's a hard pass.”
