LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The View' host Sunny Hostin was teary-eyed when she opened up about what she felt about Donald Trump's arraignment on June 13. Along with other hosts, she weighed in on the former President pleading not guilty to 37 counts related to his handling of classified documents. She said, “It seems like he (Trump) was allowed to make a mockery of the process, and I think what most people don’t realize is when you’re arraigned and arrested, that is the beginning of a criminal process."
She added, "It’s usually very daunting for people, it’s usually that moment when they realize wow…this is happening, and we didn’t see that. I think… there was no mugshot, that’s off process. There’s no bail money, they didn’t make him surrender his passport and I think what’s very important in this country is the rule of law applies to everyone... Because prosecutors don’t only enforce the law, you also send a message to the community that this is what happens when you behave a certain way, and I was very disappointed that it seemed like he had completed the entire booking process, even before entering the courtroom. He got special treatment, and that is not how the law is supposed to work.”
'You should rename your show'
Just like the co-hosts, the fans and viewers of ‘The View’ were also divided when it comes to political parties and commented under ‘The View’s Instagram post. “You should rename your show, 'Why we hate DJT'. Ya’ll need to get a life!!!” wrote a user. Another one dragged President Joe Biden into the debate, saying, “Biden had documents he wasn’t supposed to have and they’re not even looking at him…talk about special treatment…geez.” Yet another viewer posted, “Notice they never talk about any of the ‘good’ things Biden has done? They just talk about Trump for the last seven years.”
Looks like the viewers of ‘The View’ have had enough of the co-hosts discussing Trump as one writes, “Good grief, you wanted him arrested. Now you are bellyaching that it wasn’t done to your satisfaction. Get over it!” Viewers have directly taken offense to Hostin’s statement as one writes, “Blah, blah Sunny, miss better than anyone else, or so you think.” One viewer summed up the emotions of those slamming Sunny and asked, “Is she an attorney?”
'He is not a flight risk'
Trump pleaded not guilty after he was arraigned in a federal courthouse on 37 criminal charges in Miami on June 13. Trump's attorney and spokesperson Alina Habba told CBS News, "President Trump is in a very unique position where he doesn't need to be given a mugshot, obviously. He is not a flight risk. He is the leading candidate of the GOP at the moment. He is going through a process that has been coordinated with Secret Service and it will all be handled seamlessly."
