LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Fans were increasingly frustrated with 'The View' going on a summer hiatus, but the co-hosts took some well-deserved time off. Whether it was Ana Navarro in the Dominican Republic or Whoopi Goldberg nursing her back, they all took the time they needed. Meanwhile, one co-host had a particularly interesting break, and that was Sunny Hostin.
Hostin attended the famous White Party hosted by Michael Rubin, which has made headlines in recent days. While Hostin Instagrammed about her feet hurting from dancing all night long, she also had an interesting experience with none other than Kenny Chesney. On 'The View' Hostin tells us more about this fun experience.
‘We were fast friends’
When Goldberg asked her co-hosts about their summer, Hostin was the first to speak up: "I worked hard, but I played hard too. I generally can't balance it." Hostin talked about two big experiences during her break: the first was interviewing Vice President Kamala Harris for Essence Fest. After that, Hostin went to Sag Harbor, where she did a book signing that over 200 people attended. While these were some big summer successes for Hostin, it wasn't the highlight. Hostin casually mentioned the White Party, "The next day I went to Michael Rubin's white party, I don't know if you guys have heard of that party." Hostin also immediately mentioned DJ Khaled while the audience cheered on.
Hostin then moved on to talk about the highlight of the party, “The best part is, see the gentleman on the right with the bald head. I don’t know if you recognize him but I did not recognize him at first and he came up to me, and he was like ‘Sunny! I love you! I watch you when we’re on our tour bus’ and so I’m like okay…tour bus…it’s like comedian, actor, singer, I know him, I know him. We were fast friends, we hung out all night.”
Michael Strahan saves the day
Another person who was at the White Party was ‘Good Morning America’s host Strahan. Strahan ran up to Hostin’s ‘fast friend’ calling him Kenny. Hostin was quick to ask Strahan who her new friend was to which Strahan responded, “It’s Kenny Chesney, like the number one country singer in the world.” Hostin talked about how she couldn’t recognize Chesney without his ‘ten-gallon hat’ and cowboy boots. She continued, “We’re texting buddies now and I love Kenny Chesney, and I love his music.” After Hostin’s story, Sara Haines narrated her not-so-glam summer break with her husband and kids.
