LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Fox News has made some big changes as Jesse Watters has taken over Tucker Carlson’s coveted primetime slot at the network. The takeover has officially taken place as Watters started the show with some unconventional advice from his mother Anne Watters, which he plays in his new slot. ‘The View’ hosts have responded to the advice from Watters’ Democrat mother.
While most co-hosts laughed at the advice when his mother asked him to be careful, Joy Behar seemed far from thrilled about it. An angry Behar listed out the things Watters stands for as she called him a "terrible person".
'We do not want a lawsuit'
Whoopi Goldberg announced the topic to her co-hosts as she read the cue card and said, “Last night, Fox News host Jesse Watters officially took over Tucker Carlson’s old slot…okay, and he got an interesting call from his mother. She’s a Democrat and there’s a clip.” ‘The View’ then plays the clip of Watters’ phone call with his mother where she said, “I want to say congratulations honeybun, we are so proud of you and your accomplishments. And you’ve worked so hard, now let’s aim to have you keep your job.”
This earned a chuckle from Watters before she continued, “And to that end, I have some suggestions. Do not tumble into any conspiracy, we do not want to lose you, and we do not want a lawsuit. Use your voice responsibly to promote conversation that maintains a narrative thread. There really has been enough Biden-bashing. Perhaps, you could suggest that your people take less interest, for example, in other people’s bodies, and talk about that.”
As the clip ended, there’s a laugh and applause on ‘The View’ but Goldberg is quick to point out the question Behar had before Tuesday’s segment, “Why do you think he put her on?”
‘Listen to your mother’
Haines was quick to respond to the question as she shrugged, “Because she’s his mom.” It didn't take long for Behar to snap and she said “So what? She’s a Democrat, she disagrees with him. He has said some egregious things over the years. He espouses the same replacement theory that Tucker espoused. He demonizes trans youth. He’s told Black people to worry more about absent fathers than White supremacists and mass shooters. He’s really a terrible person.” Before her co-hosts can finish their sentences, Behar continued, “Listen to your mother!”
Alyssa Farah Griffin cited an example of herself and her best friend who is a Democrat and how the difference in political views doesn’t impact their friendship. Behar stopped her, “Can I interrupt you for a second? This is not the difference of political views, this is lying on television.” She compared Watters’ situation to that of RFK Jr and his antisemitic remarks. Behar claimed that both these situations are “destructive to the country.” For the rest of the segment on Watters, Behar had a bitter expression on her face.
