LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ron DeSantis recently made headlines for his comment on slavery in regard to the new Florida curriculum. DeSantis faced severe backlash for the same over the last few days, and Ana Navarro, who has openly addressed DeSantis as ‘DeSaster’ also tweeted about the same. ‘The View’ host recently took to Twitter after Senator Tim Scott commented on DeSantis and slavery.
When asked to comment by reports, Scott said, “There is no silver lining in slavery.” As per AP News, Scott called slavery “devastating” and in regard to DeSantis made the following statement, “I would hope that every person in our country, and certainly running for president, would appreciate that. People have bad days, sometimes they regret what they say. And we should ask them again to clarify their positions.” Following this, Navarro tweeted in support of Scott but was mocked by the internet.
What did Navarro tweet?
‘The View’ host’s tweet was short and simple, but the response it received was tenfold. Navarro re-tweeted, “Good for @SenatorTimScott” to the original tweet which read, "Tim Scott rebukes Ron DeSantis over Florida Black history standards on slavery — @HenryJGomez." The internet wasn’t pleased by Navarro as they claimed that what Scott said about DeSantis was the “bare minimum” he could have done.
‘The bar is so low’
Internet is disappointed at Navarro applauding Scott in the tweet as one person wrote, “Again @SenatorTimScott gets credit for doing the very least,” and another said, “Our benchmark is so low that doing the obvious is lauded and appreciated.” In direct response to Navarro’s tweet, one person also wrote, “Nothing good about him.”
People are laser-focused on the fact that Scott is being praised for doing to “bare minimum” as one person tweeted, “He is doing the bare minimum...” and another said, “The bar is so low that this is commendable and brave. 🤦” The internet continued to remain disappointed as responses to Navarro kept flowing in, one person wrote, “Good for Tim Scott? Taking a shot back at DeSatan is easy for anyone, let’s hear him jump into the real world … really!” Since then, Navarro has not responded to any of these responses nor has she further commented on Scott.
