NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Only a few episodes of Netflix's 'The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On' Season 2 featured Jelisa "Lisa" Horne and Brian Okoye's relationship, but they received attention for their heated argument at the cocktail party in episode two and the subsequent revelation that Lisa was pregnant.
Lisa is now being referred to as "a salty human" by 'The Ultimatum' fans for justifying her behavior towards Riah and blaming it on pregnant hormones.
Lisa weighed in on her contentious acts from earlier in the season, including calling fellow cast member Riah a "Hooters b***h" and indicating she was immature after witnessing Riah interacting with Brian Okoye, in the season two reunion episode, which aired on August 30, 2023.
"I don't regret what I said. Because I didn't base my assumption off of her job, I based it off of how she was acting during this process," Lisa explained to 'The Ultimatum' hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey at the reunion.
"For me, I felt like if you are in love with someone that you came here with, you're not seeing someone and thinking 'Oh my god, he's hot. He makes me hot," Lisa said.
The new mother also stated that Riah's eagerness to pursue a relationship with Brian made Lisa wonder if she was truly interested in repairing her relationship with her original boyfriend, Trey, or if she was just looking for ways to get with Brian.
"I just felt, at the time, I didn't feel like she was that into the person she came with. I felt like Trey was a great catch… he's ready to marry," Lisa stated, adding, "At the time, I felt like she doesn't love him."
She went on to say that she thought Riah had crossed a boundary by chasing Brian. Lisa claims that her response the night of the cocktail party encouraged her to take a pregnancy test since she suspected something was wrong.
"Not that it excuses my behavior at all, but it definitely made me realize that this is why I'm acting psycho," she said of her choice to take the test.
Lisa also expressed sorrow for slapping Brian across the face, possibly referencing that incident. "I was very remorseful for doing that. It wasn't okay. Even the hormones, regardless of being pregnant, that doesn't excuse it," she explained.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, fans took issue with the incident as one wrote, "Lisa did all that, is still a salty human and still don’t got no ring."
Another person chimed in, "After watching the reunion, I realized that the pregnancy hormones didn't make Lisa a b***h. She is always a b***h. She was dead wrong for how she treated Riah and she isn't woman enough to say sorry."
An offended viewer tweeted, "Riah is a more classy woman than I am because this would’ve been me with Lisa on that stage when she said, “oh I’m not sorry for what I said.”
Another said, "In conclusion... -Lisa is still a b***h it wasn't bc she was pregnant -antonio is in delulu land roxanne doesn't wanna marry him -they could've kept this season in the drafts it was mid asf and very bland."
On Reddit, fans lauded Riah on her handling the situation. One wrote, "Major props to Riah for handling it so maturely. Lisa showed her true colors and is clearly still threatened by her. So sad that there are women like Lisa out there in the world."
On another thread, a user added, "I like how she clearly came in with a plan to be apologetic, then couldn't help herself and went off on Riah."
One fan wrote, "I definitely got preggo rage with all my pregnancies, it can happen, but I never screamed at or HIT anyone! Hormones can make you not yourself, yes, but they don't make you have no control at all!"
One user added, "Lisa and Roxanne came prepared with the hormone response. "She also said that she and Brian had a healthy baby boy called Mason.
Where are Lisa Horne and Brian Okoye now after 'The Ultimatum' Season 2?
'The Ultimatum' is known for its drama, but no one expected there to be so much drama in the opening episode of the second season.
Lisa had delivered the ultimatum to Brian, hoping that he would swiftly come to his senses and propose. Brian, on the other hand, wanted to see the social experiment through and socialize with the other female cast members, particularly Riah.
Although Brian was not wrong to socialize and get to know his castmates, Lisa did not approve. She smacked Brian and struck out at him in rage. Then, she called Riah a slew of derogatory names.
It was simply not a nice look on her behalf. Lisa told Brian about her pregnancy, and the two decided to quit the show together after the third episode.
Based on their talk regarding their future relationship in the third episode, it appears that they departed the show as a pair. They just did not get married.
During the reunion episode, which is expected to air in the summer of 2023, we learn that Lisa and Brian are still together and have a newborn boy called Mason.
They are not, however, engaged or married. When asked about their marriage timetable, Brian informs Nick and Vanessa Lachey that they intend to marry in the future, but are not yet there.
Where are Riah Nelson and Trey Brunson now after 'The Ultimatum' Season 2?
When we initially met Riah and Trey, it was clear that they had some issues that they needed to sort out before moving further in their relationship. While Riah wasn't quite ready for marriage, Trey felt they could work through their issues while married.
Riah was at a place in her life when she was trying to figure out what she wanted to do with her job, whereas Trey was well-established. This was a big source of contention in their relationship.
Then there was the matter of their relationship's lack of romanticism. Riah suspected Trey wasn't as romantic as he was when they first started dating. Another issue they had to deal with was children. Trey desired children, while Riah wanted children but was unsure.
Trey developed a strong relationship with his trial marriage partner Ryann McCracken. He even began to have feelings for her. Meanwhile, Riah and her trial partner James weren't getting along.
Trey proposed to Riah and Riah accepted his proposal when it came time to decide whether to commit to marriage or walk on.
Riah and Trey declared they're still together and engaged at the reunion show. Riah informed Nick, Vanessa, and the rest of the group that she and Trey are planning a vacation wedding for the spring of 2025.
