NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'The Five' host Jesse Watters slammed the decision of Portland's schools of equitable grading. Per this new rule, no student should be given an absolute zero mark in their grade reports.
Watters also criticized the bureaucrats in the city who were behind these decisions for Portland. He claimed the new rule would produce "idiots," demanding the state to give them all jobs.
In the process, Watters also attacked the only Democrat on the panel and rotating host Jessica Tarlov.
Jesse Watters proposes a deal for Portland for 'equitable grading'
The schools in the city of Portland have recently decided to adopt the 'Grading for Equity' practice.
In a report by host Jeanine Pirro, it was revealed that the schools have asked teachers to mark their students more than 50% of the grade regardless of their performance on their assignments or tests.
Watters was extremely unhappy with the city's decision to do so.
He said, "You're gonna get kids in 10th grade that don't know how to read and everyone's gonna go "okay, that's fine"? If you do this, here's the deal. That means every kid you graduate must work in Portland."
Watters' continued, "Make all of these idiots that you have produced work for the city. And see how that goes."
He added, "Because the parents aren't gonna agree with this. The students aren't gonna agree with this."
Jesse Watter attacks Jessica Tarlov and her 'ilk'
Watters followed up by stating, "No one thinks this is a good idea except for Jessica and her ilk," referring to the liberals and Democrats.
"I literally said I think this is a bad idea," Tarlov went on to respond as the other hosts laughed.
Tarlov previously made comments on the equitable grading rule and said, "I hope that they don't go for it."
She had also mentioned that something similar was supported by the state of Oregon previously as well and she stood her ground in disagreement of the same.
"I think these are dangerous experiments that will put us further behind than where we have to go," she added.
