Farrah Abraham lost her fiance Derek Underwood to a car accident
'Teen Mom' alum Farrah Abraham lost her fiance, and the father of her child, to a car accident 14 years ago. Derek died in 2008 just a few weeks before Sophia was born.
Derek died in a motor vehicle accident when he was just 18 years old after losing control of his car while he was driving. Farrah has been open about how that trauma has affected her mental health.
Derek was working as a server at Rick's Boatyard, a restaurant in Omaha, Nebraska, before his death. Derek was hardly mentioned in Farrah's season of '16 & Pregnant'.
Farrah's mother reportedly told her to cut off contact with Derek by blocking his number. Soon after Farrah distanced herself from Derek, he died in an accident.
