AUSTIN, TEXAS: Bravo's 'Project Runway' returned with Season 20 and the judges Nina Garcia, Brandon Maxwell, and Elaine Welteroth. The All-Stars edition of 'Project Runway' featured former contestants who returned to the competition to claim the title that they lost in their respective seasons.
However, Christian revealed during the latest episode that there's no immunity this season but there will be prizes and advantages for each winner along the way. The winner of this 'redemption project' gets $10,000. Meanwhile, the winner of the competition will bag a cash prize of $250,000, a mentorship with the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America), and a feature in Elle magazine. However, among the hopefuls is Brittany Allen, one of the participants who first appeared in season 18 but couldn't reach the finals. Brittany is popularly known for her ready-to-wear designs and swimwear collections.
Who is Brittany Allen?
Brittany currently resides in Austin, Texas. She grew up in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and strives for perfection and excellence in her unique designs. She graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science and received her Masters of Fine Arts degree from Savannah College of Art and Design. She is also a PhD in Apparel, Merchandising, and Design from Iowa State University. According to Brittany's website, she worked as a creative director, technical apparel designer, and Adjunct professor throughout her career. Brittany currently runs her own label where she creates contemporary apparel and accessories for women. She founded the company in 2013 in Fort Smith, Arkansas but later shifted her business to Austin in 2015. Brittany described her brand as if 'Dolly Parton and Betsey Johnson had a baby who was then raised by Anna Wintour.' Notably, Brittany's designs have been showcased at Austin Fashion Week 2017-2019, 2017 Houston Fashion Week, and September 2019 Style Fashion Week, along with WWD and Footwear News. After getting fame following her stint on 'Project Runway' Season 18, Brittany is all set to compete against 13 fashion designers on Project Runway All-Stars Season 20.
Brittany Allen designs tea-length dress on 'Project Runway' Season 20
The 14 contestants hit the floor of Project Runway All-Stars' Season 20. The contestants were tasked to give a new look to their worst design which they created during the Bravo show. Brittany planned to make a tea-length dress with side cut-outs to show the judges how she's evolved. Brittany has beautiful fabric on the dress she was making, but Christian wonders why she was doing a dress if her style now is more activewear. Christian warns Brittany, "Don't be making me use my save on you again!" However, Brittany's design was the most stylish and instantly impressed the judges.
'Such a drama queen'
Even before the start of the 'Redemption project', the viewers get to see multiple glances of Brittany which triggered them to bash the Bravo show. During the live discussion on 'Project Runway' Season 20 on Reddit, a viewer questioned, "Is it just me or is Brittany getting an insane amount of airtime." However, others chimed in the discussion and commented, "She is, and unfortunately it's reminding me that I wasn't a fan of her last time."
