LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Former Trump aide, Cassidy Hutchinson, has been garnering immense praise online after grilling Matt Gaetz over his new shocking claims.
On Monday, September 25, the 27-year-old Hutchinson, who played a prominent role as a star witness at the January 6 Committee hearings, appeared on MSNBC’s 'The Rachel Maddow Show' to discuss her upcoming book 'Enough'.
The book reportedly a number of events that Hutchinson witnessed while working for Trump during the time leading up to his attempt to overthrow the government on January 6, 2021.
In one instance, Hutchinson accused Rudy Giuliani of sliding his hand "under my blazer, then my skirt," and behaving like a "wolf closing in on his prey."
What did Matt Gaetz say about Cassidy Hutchinson’s groping allegation?
In her bombshell book, Hutchinson accused Gaetz of groping her on two separate occasions, according to The Wrap.
During Monday’s episode, host Rachel Maddow quoted one of the instances from Hutchinson’s book, saying “He (Gaetz) chuckled and brushed his thumb across my chin and said ‘Has anyone ever told you you’re a national treasure?'”
The host then cited Hutchinson’s recollection of another encounter. “You describe a night at Camp David when he was leaning against the door frame while somebody answered the door to another cabin,” she went on.
“He explained that he was lost and asked me to escort him to his cabin. I told him to proceed around the circle drive. All the cabins are clearly marked. It’s impossible to get lost. He asked me one more time to leave with him. Kevin McCarthy then said, quote, Get a life, Matt, and shut the door,’” the host continued.
Maddow then informed her audience that when they asked Gaetz for a response, he sent a statement in which he claimed that he and Hutchinson dated for a brief period.
“I don’t remember either of these events and based on Cassidy’s prior false statements, I doubt they occurred. I did date Cassidy for a few weeks when we were both single years ago.”
We parted amicably and remained friends thereafter, even during President Trump’s post-presidency when she asked me to help her secure housing in south Florida because she was eager to continue working for President Trump,” the statement further added.
Did Cassidy Hutchinson really date Matt Gaetz?
When Maddow asked Hutchinson for her response, she didn’t address the claim that she “was eager to continue working” for Trump even after Jan. 6 and had asked Gaetz for help finding a residence near him.
However, she did refute the claims that she dated Gaetz while working for Trump.
“Matt Gaetz, in my opinion, is somebody that I personally do not hold in high regard in terms of trust. And I do not think that Matt Gaetz has the best track record for relationships and condoning his relationships, how he thinks that they might be defined,” Hutchinson said.
“I will say, on behalf of myself, I never dated Matt Gaetz. I have much higher standards in men. And Matt, frankly, is a very unserious politician. We see that today with the ruckus that he is causing on Capitol Hill with the spending negotiations,” she continued.
