GENEVA, SWITZERLAND: Sophia Loren is getting better following her surgery after she slipped in the bathroom of her home in Geneva, Switzerland, on Sunday, September 24.
The Oscar-winning actress tragically suffered a number of fractures, including to her femur and hip.
Now, a representative of the 89-year-old star provided an update on Monday, saying that they were hopeful about her speedy recovery following the surgery.
Loren's manager Carlo Giusti told People on Tuesday, "The surgery went extremely well. She has started the rehabilitation and slowly is recovering," said Giusti, adding "There is no other news at the moment."

Loren recently appeared at the Armani fashion show during the 80th Venice International Film Festival on September 2. Giuseppe Fantasia, an Italian journalist and critic, who was present at the Armani event told the outlet that Loren appeared "very lively" at the time.
"You can tell she loves these events, she’s really happy at them," says Fantasia, adding "She carried herself extremely well."
"She was very much enjoying herself," he continues. "People were quite excited to see her," he adds.
An onlooker said Sophia Loren 'looked absolutely fine' during the event
Another onlooker from the Armani event said the actress "looked absolutely fine" and "probably had the biggest crowd around her at the show."
The onlooker added, "She was absolutely surrounded, chatting to people, in very good form."

“A fall at her home in Geneva today caused Ms Loren hip fractures. Operated with a positive outcome, she will now have to observe a short period of recovery and follow a road to rehabilitation," read the post shared on the Instagram page for her restaurant chain on Sunday, September 24.
"Thankfully everything worked out for the best and the Lady will be back with us very soon. The whole team at Sophia Loren Restaurant takes this opportunity to wish her a speedy recovery," the post added.

The 'Two Women' actress most recently starred in the 2020 Oscar-nominated film 'The Life Ahead' directed by her son Edoardo Ponti.
She told AARP: The Magazine in November 2020 that she felt younger than her years. "Sometimes when I say I'm 86, I don't believe it. I feel 20! When I look in the mirror, I cheer for myself. I don't ask, ‘Are you great?’ or ‘Are you beautiful?’ No! It's how I feel inside, how secure I am, how happy I am. That's what matters," she said.
