LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: YouTuber Shallon Lester has vowed to take legal action against Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for allegedly “defaming” her in their Netflix docuseries. The star of MTV’s reality series 'Downtown Girls' wants to hold them accountable for the public condemnation she faced after the royal couple claimed that Lester participated in an online hate campaign against them.
The YouTube star with more than 347,000 subscribers, expressed her determination to pursue legal measures, saying, "It's defamation, it's slander, it's mischaracterization." Lester also took a shot against Meghan Markle's work ethic, especially due to the couple's recent departure from Spotify and cancellation of their $20 million podcast deal.
What did Lester say?
A video clip from Lester’s YouTube account showed that allegedly 70 percent of 114,000 hateful posts directed at the Sussexes came from 83 social media accounts. The 42-year-old has since termed the allegations “a festival of bulls–t” in a YouTube video shared with fans Tuesday, June 27. “Believe me when I say I’m pursuing every opportunity to nail their ass to the wall for this,” said Lester. “It’s defamation, it’s slander, it’s mischaracterization. And you know what else it is? Misinformation.”
“The Duchess or reality TV show game show briefcase girl, whatever the f–k she thinks she’s supposed to be, has had her deal with Spotify, the $20 million, 12-episode podcast deal, cut,” the influencer said. “And it seems that now Spotify has cut ties with her, everybody is coming out of the woodwork to denounce this couple’s terrible work ethic, [they’re] entitled, bizarre, self-aggrandizing attitude, and general unlikability.”
Bill Simmons recently referred to the couple as “f–king grifters"
Lester also shed light on how Bill Simmons recently referred to the couple as “f–king grifters,” adding that “even the UTA, the United Talent Agency, a huge talent agency in Hollywood, the head of that saying, ‘I don’t think they’re that talented.' The word talent is literally in the title of the company he runs and he’s like, ‘No, they don’t have it,'” she added.
Although she was included in the 5th episode of the couple’s Netflix docuseries, Lester claimed that she was never contacted by the OTT platform.
'I challenge anyone associated with this documentary'
“It is defamatory, slanderous and I am discussing legal action with my team against Meghan and Harry, and Bot Sentinel CEO Christopher Bouzy for his unfounded statements presented as facts,” Lester said. “I challenge anyone associated with this documentary to prove these claims of a shadow network,” she continued, adding, “The very fact that they assume there’s some sort of global conspiracy against them is exactly why everyone despises them so much.”
Lester added that Meghan and Harry are “paranoid and self-aggrandizing” and “can’t fathom the idea that their boring, entitled victim narratives make them grating, cringey a–holes. Simple as that.”
