EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND: Celebrities renting hotel rooms using fictitious names to avoid attention is nothing new. However, the staffers at Edinburgh's luxurious Caledonian were in splits after Harry Styles used a hysterical fake name to check in recently.
The 29-year-old former One Direction star reportedly booked a room at the hotel under the name Oliver Sudden, which is believed to be a play on the phrase "all of a sudden." "We all had a right giggle when we saw the name – it took a while to work out what it meant," hotel sources told the Daily Mail, adding, "Harry is so famous though that he has to use a different name when checking in or it would be carnage for him with his fans who follow him wherever they know he is."

Harry Styles has his own entrance
The ‘Watermelon Sugar’ hitmaker was reportedly using a covert rear entrance to enter and exit the hotel and was being ferried around the city in a Mercedes S-Class. In the past, it was seen how One Direction members struggled to exit their hotels through the main entrance due to hordes of fans waiting outside. Styles was believed to have been renting a suite that costs $3,703 a night at the Caledonian for his two sold-out performances on the ‘Love On’ Tour at Murrayfield stadium. In pictures shared on Instagram, he was recently seen enjoying a few rounds of golf with his manager at the iconic St Andrews course.
The ‘As It Was’ singer has been on the road since September 2021 when his tour kicked off in Las Vegas. The tour is scheduled to wrap up with a show in the Italian city of Reggio Emilia in July.

Styles was recently linked to Victoria's Secret model Candice Swanepoel, 34, after breaking-up with Olivia Wilde and kissing Emily Ratajkowski. Styles and Swanepoel first connected in 2017 when he gave a performance at the lingerie brand's Shanghai exhibition.
The singer has had a long list of exes including Taylor Swift, Kendall Jenner, Camille Rowe and late TV presenter Caroline Flack. “Harry is one of the world’s biggest music superstars so it’s not surprising supermodels are lining up to date him,” sources told The Sun, adding, “He’s got history with Victoria’s Secret models and has been linked to six others who have all walked in their fashion shows. Candice is one of Victoria’s Secret’s most successful Angels and Harry would be a lucky man if he managed to woo her.”
