MONTVILLE, NEW JERSEY: 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' star Joe Gorga recently turned to his Instagram to promote his upcoming comedy events, but fans seemed to not have been pleased with his skills as a comic.
The spouse of 'RHONJ' Melissa Gorga may have a construction background, but he's been pursuing a stand-up comedy career since 2019.
On August 28, the father of three announced on Instagram that he would be performing at another comedy event in October. For the evening, he'll be reunited with comic Mike, with whom he performed during his first-ever stand-up set.
Tickets will cost between $99 and $150. "I'm Back! See you October 14th in Princeton, New Jersey!! Gonna be a fun night with [Mike Marino] !" Joe announced the show in the description of his Instagram post advertising it, which would take place at the Catch a Rising Star comedy club.
On September 19, Joe again took to Instagram, only this time he went live with Mike. In the caption, he wrote, "Just doing a little standup rehearsals tonight at my house with my Comedian, friends, Mike Marino and Joe Bartnick @mikemarinolive @mrjoebartnick."
Fans quickly took to the comment section to troll the 'RHONJ' husband. One wrote, "You and your wife give off desperation vibes. And you're not a comedian just because some drunks around you laugh at your garden gnome antics." Another user chimed in, "An insult to real comics everywhere." One sighed, "Somebody please tell this man he's not funny and maybe try acting his age." A fourth person wrote, "Still waiting to hear something funny… train wreck tv."
One user also snarked, "I'll send you some jokes." Another person added, "Stay off the shelf."
When did 'RHONJ's Joe Gorga start his standup comedy career?
Joe made his standup comic debut on February 18, 2019, at "The Real Italians of Comedy" at West Nyack Levity Live in West Nyack, NY. On the bill with him were comedians Tammy Pescatelli and Mike Marino.
Did 'RHONJ's Joe Gorga lose out on a TV show with Frank Catania?
Frank Catania said on the 'Two T's in a Pod' podcast that he has provisionally agreed to host a show with the two Joes (Joe Gorga, and Joe Benigno).
However, after word got out about what Frank claims was a smear campaign organized by Louie 'Luis' Ruelas, talks with the other network fell through. Frank reiterated that he was not engaging with Bravo, Peacock, or NBC. A more conservative network did not want the drama to continue.
Is Joe Gorga returning to 'RHONJ'?
Teresa Giudice and Melissa will both return for Season 14 in July 2023, despite the subsequent confrontation, according to Us Weekly. This also implies fans will be able to Joe possibly restarting his comedy career.
Season 14 filming has begun, and the magazine confirms that cameras were rolling during the softball game.
