LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave turned 42 years old on Saturday, July 1, 2023. The reality star realized a major thing in her life as she grew one year older. She tried telling her husband Edwin Arroyave about what she wanted. And surprisingly, it worked for her, and her wants and needs got fulfilled.
Well, Teddi has not been the same always. She claims to be the kind of person who does not usually tell what she wants and then things happen in her life on their own. Considering the same, the 'RHOBH' star took to social media to address the highs and lows she experienced in her marriage.
Teddi Mellencamp gets '100 % direct' on her birthday
The 'RHOBH' star took to Instagram on Sunday and uploaded a selfie of herself with her husband Edwin. She asked her fans in the caption, "When was the last time you really told your significant other exactly what you want and need?" She further explained about herself, "I often times don’t and then let things build up and fester. I mean aren’t our people mind readers? Can’t they tell what my heavy annoyed breathing means? The answer is no." However, on this birthday, Teddi tried something new.
The reality star claimed, "I tried out being 100 percent direct with @tedwinator yesterday for my birthday and guess what— it worked like a charm." Teddi asked her husband to work until 11 am while she took the children out. But she also asked for a "date of her favorite things" when she returned. The reality star asked her husband, "I want a date of my favorite things. Lunch. Walk around BH people watching. A couple’s treatment at my fave spa, an early dinner, and then some romantic time and early to bed." She also asked Edwing to be off his phone because this hurts her feelings even though it's work.

Teddi understood that wanting big things like what she asked for on her birthday are meant for special occasions. However, she said, "It was an excellent reminder that we have to spell out what we both want and need in this marriage."
She later confessed to having woken up with tears in her eyes after being "grateful" for all the "laughs, important convos, and silly fluffs" she shared with her husband.
Teddi summed up the entire thing and said, "Marriage isn’t easy and we all have high highs and low lows but if we are vulnerable and open up, it can lead to one of the best days you have had in a long time."
