NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Joe Scarborough has been away from ‘Morning Joe’ as he spent a part of his summer in Maine with his wife and co-host Mika Brzezinski. Scarborough’s tweets on X, formerly known as Twitter, had also become infrequent.
However, with Labor Day, Scarborough has taken over X to share four articles from Wall Street Journal, highlighting the different aspects of the country, which according to Scarborough, “we celebrate.”
By the looks of it, as Scarborough celebrates Labor Day with these articles, and celebrates America, his followers might not all agree with him.
Joe Scarborough celebrates Labor Day 2023
On X, ‘Morning Joe’ host Joe Scarborough wrote, “On Labor Day 2023, we celebrate A Strong Economy, Taming of Inflation, Higher Wages, and The Soft Landing that skeptics said would never happen (Sources: Wall Street Journal)”
With each pointer, Scarborough added a link to the article in the Wall Street Journal. For “a strong economy,” the article was titled, “Resilient U.S. Economy Defies Expectations.” The article attached to “Taming of Inflation” was titled,” Cooler July Inflation Opens Door to Fed Pause on Rates.”
“Higher Wages” had an article titled, “The Pay Increases Keep Coming,” and lastly, “The Soft Landing that the skeptics said would never happen” had an article attached titled, “How the US Economy Is Sticking the Soft Landing.”
Less than an hour after his previous tweet, Scarborough wrote, “There is still much work to do. Congress passes tax laws that value billionaires over working Americans. Tax fairness is critical to promote upward mobility in America. Sadly, our tax code protects billionaires while punishing workers, small business owners, and entrepreneurs.”
His second tweet was written after the initial reaction from people on X, where Scarborough was on the receiving end of some backlash.
Internet calls out Joe Scarborough over his Labor Day post
In response to the ‘Morning Joe’ host Joe Scarborough’s tweet, one person wrote, “How can anyone take this guy seriously?” and another asked, “Is this satire?”
Some have even dragged Scarborough’s wife and co-host Mika Brzezinski as one person wrote, “We celebrate that we don’t have to watch you and Mika!” One person responded, “You have no clue today.”
“Democrats would be wise to stop bragging on economic numbers as they do not reflect the actual " situation on the ground." This line feels like a big "FU" to folks who are struggling to get by,” wrote one user. Another also said, “Costs still skyrocketing. what's the point of the 1% getting stronger they don't even shop for food or gas. the 99% can't even buy a house so wtf travel. ur economy bullshit is just that!. stop pushing this false positive.”
