MADISON, SOUTH DAKOTA: 'Love Island USA' Season 5 star Carsten Bergersen revealed on the 'After The Island' podcast that he was almost sent home on the show's first day as he was the only one left without a partner.
According to Bergersen, when told by the programmers that the person left without a partner would have to go back home, he readily complied. The reality star was apparently under the impression of not being "built" for the show.
Once the other couples were paired up, Bergersen packed his bags and made up his mind to leave. He walked through the hallway, disappointed about his participation in the show, thinking about what his friends and family would have to say about his exit.
However, in a stunning twist, he was called back into the show for deserving a "second chance." Fates seem to have aligned for Bergersen as he ended up securing the third place alongside his partner, Taylor Nicole Smith.
